New York was buzzing today. Sigyn barely noticed, she was kind of busy with her own mind. Somehow , the aftermath of her son's death was still haunting the day. She'd be fine, she knew. Sigyn just had to take her mind elsewhere. Loki had promised to take her to dinner at her favourite French Restaurant in Soho, but he was still busy at the palace. So Sigyn - in hopes of purchasing one of those dark black drinks - had departed early. And so, she was strolling down the street, about to hit one of those taverns called Starbucks. She stopped at the sidewalk, waiting for a car to pass, when she realized who exactly was sitting outside the café, having a coffee and the largest piece of choclate cake Sigyn had ever seen. Some habits died hard, amnesia or not. She blinked once, twice and a third time. Thor had been gone for a while. They knew he was in New York. They knew about his alter ego. Yet, they had not visited him. Of course, they were not supposed to, but they had found a way. Before Sigyn had gotten to know Thor, she had thought him to be a noble, proud warrior with a brain the size of a pea and too much focus on himself. She had been proven partially wrong. The God of Thunder was full of himself, but apart from his vanity, he was also very kind, passionate and had a huge heart. She had appreciated him as a brother-in-law and she had mourned his punishment. In her own way, of course. Loki missed his brother, Sigyn knew that, even if Loki did not voice his opinion that directly. Seeing Thor right here, right now was totally sweeping her off her feet. He was dressed in Midgardian clothes and there was a cane leaning against the table, that he shared with a young woman. Sigyn could not just let go like this. She needed to talk to him. How to do that? She knew he was a healer in this realm. How very ironic! A warrior, that had slayed many, a healer! But this might be the clue to get to be alone with him. Sigyn hurried to make step forward and then, it happened. A yellow car was hitting her right as she was passing the street. It had not driven fastly, but it had enough impact to throw her to the ground and get the attention of all people. Some were staring, some were dutiful and rushed to the scene, as the driver got out and put his hands above his head, being torn between rage, fear and concern. "Is there a doctor around?", an older lady called out frantically, as she was rushing over to Sigyn, who was wide awake and pretending to be unconscious. outfit

Donald Blake was busy discussing some things with his girlfriend, Jane Foster. Namely, the strange dreams he had been having. Dreams where he was a Norse god who battled giants, demons, and monstrous snakes. But he was not that person at all. He was far too weak. He was a doctor who battled cancer, and heart defects, and appendicitis. Still, he would have liked to be that guy in his dreams. To be strong, and able bodied...
Despite his age, Donald had to walk with a cane, for his legs had been hobbled by an accident. Still, he could have been worse off. Every day he saw examples. One patient,a fairly notable person in New York, was bound to a wheel chair, yet he had managed to live his life to the fullest every day. Charles Xavier was something of an inspiration to most people he crossed paths with, and Dr. Blake was no exception.
Jane Foster drank her coffee with a look of concern on her face. She was there for every awakening, and it was always the same. she had no idea what had brought this all on, but it had been so for many weeks now. He had gone from being so peaceful in his sleep, to being tormented by strange nocturnal adventures in his own mind. Being a nurse, and his lover, she wanted nothing more than to help him through it. But she was at a loss as to what she could even do. She sipped her coffee, and decided to approach the subject.
"Xavier is an expert in psychology right?" She asked him, knowing full well the answer.
"Yes, and?" Donald replied, " It would be a conflict of interest, to ask his help. I can find someone else, if I need to. But I don't. I can work it out myself, I did take psych classes, you know..."
Jane rolled her eyes, and Donald drank his coffee with a grim look on his face. He remembered liking coffee more. But he had craved beer lately. It made no sense, he had never been all that much of a drinker. He figured it was the combination of stress at work and the dreams.
The couple would have considered this a day like any other, wholly unremarkable, save for what happened next. A woman was hit by a car, and the inevitable call out for medical attention was heard by the restless Dr. Blake. He got up, and limped over to where the girl lay unconscious. Jane followed, with compassion evident in her eyes. They had to help.
"Is there a doctor around?",
"I am," Donald said, as Jane began to look her over, and soon he followed suit. She had no remarkable injuries. No blood, nothing was bruised. It was odd. He supposed the damage could be internal, and not presently visible.
"I almost want to say she is fine," Donald said, "But we should get her to a hospital to be sure..."
And then he had a strange feeling of deja vu wash over him. The girl looked familiar, like someone from a dream or a memory. But he couldn't place it, not at all. She could be someone famous, maybe. It was likely, he didn't pay too much attention to that stuff.
"I'll call an ambulance," Jane said taking out her phone.

Why she was lying there, flawlessy pretending to be unconscious, Sigyn's other senses were focussing on getting every information they could possibly get. When Thor spoke, she winced inwardly. She had not heard this voice in a while. He even smelled the same, under the many layers of Midgardian detergents and other products. But it was still there. Thor. Her brother-in-law. She knew Loki missed him. Loki had not wanted Thor to be banned, even if there had been nothing he could have done about it. And now, the God of Thunder obviously did not even remember who he was. It was part of the punishment. What if I can make him remember?, Sigyn thought. There was so much of him present, maybe his memory just needed a little shove into the right direction. No one had to learn about this. If he remembered, he might be able to return to Asgard. And that would make her husband happy. In fact, it'd make herself happy, too.
The lady that was with Thor was stepping aside to call for an ambulance. That was when Sigyn moaned and moved just a little. She opened her eyes. Her remarkably blue eyes were on him instantly. Being so close to him, seeing him almost hit her right in the face. Sigyn had not realized how much she had actually missed him until now. She didn't know about all the things that were going to happen. About Odin falling into his sleep. About Loki learning that he was not actually Aesir. If so, she might have just let it go. But she could not. Not now. "You don't need that cane, sir," she whispered. Sigyn could not be too blatant about it. She had to be sneakier. Her lids trembled again as she pretended to slip back into unconsciousness. Her hand moved, grabbed Thor's lower arm. "Please,...do not leave me.", she begged.

"You don't need that cane, sir,"
Donald had a worried look on his face. She was delusional. He did need a cane, and had needed one for years.Ever since an accident in high school, actually. Football had once been his life, but thanks to a twist of fate, he had pursued other interests. Now he was an accomplished physician and surgeon. It was a good life, he had lived. Now his skills were to be used to help this poor girl. She needed it too. Without diagnostic equipment he couldn't do much though...
"The ambulance is on the way," Jane said sternly, perturbed at how Donald was looking at the girl. Something about the girl was familiar to Donald, something he couldn't explain. She was like a sister he never had, her pale beauty reminded him of a place he had never known. Maybe another life. One that wasn't his, but it felt so much like it might have been. So strange, this deja vu sensation washing over him. Pain he felt so long ago, he could not remember.
"Please,...do not leave me.",
"I will not," He said, "Tell me, who are you? Can you remember?"
He had to establish the identity of the woman, as well as find out if her memories were affected by the shock of the incident. She was physically fine, as far as his basic checks could tell. But she was talking so strangely. He had a vision of a man in a horned helmet when he looked into her eyes. He had a vision of a hammer, and the feeling that something important was hidden from him. What was this mystery that taunted him day and night. What did this strange girl have to do with any of it? He sighed, looking at Jane.
"She is delirious," He told her, "Not a good sign"
Being a nurse, Jane didn't need to be told, " No shit, Sherlock."

"Tófa,", Sigyn lied, "My name is Tófa." Her eyes opened lazily, locking gazes with the man that supposedly was her brother-in-law. She could not tell him her real name, that might get her in trouble. So she had chosen the next best thing, with an old Norse name that meant nothing less than peace of Thor. She did not know how deep his amnesia was running, how much it'd take him to remember or how long it'd take. Sigyn didn't think that it would be gone in half an hour, just because he was looking at her. But great things had started slowly. Maybe, she could make a change for him.
The ambulance was coming. Now, what to do? Sigyn did exactly feel like being taken to the hospital, being checked out. But it seemed like there was no escape now, if she wanted to spend some more time with Thor. Besides, simply getting up and walking away after a crash like this would probably raise more suspicion than it'd do any good. Oh , well...
She heard perfectly well how Thor considered her delirious. How ironic, for he was the one that did not know who he was. How rude, she was lying right there, hearing all the words he exchanged with the nurse. Said nurse was quite nimble-witted. Sigyn had a hard time not to laugh about the woman's retort.
"My husband is in a faraway place," Sigyn continued to mumble, still holding Thor's lower arm, "I'm sure he'd be happy to know it is you taking care of me." Was that too much already? Probably not. After all, Thor considered her delusional. Moreover, she had neither mentioned Asgard nor any brotherly bond...yet. Perhaps. Odin was not watching anyway. If so, she'd probably be asked to meet him in the great hall for a lecture the moment she returned.
The ambulance came, paramedicts rushing to her side. She grabbed Thor's arm tighter, locked their gazes yet again. If he didn't join her, all this would have been in vain, would it not?

Tofa.
The name sounded strange to Don Blake, but there were lots of foreigners in New York. So it was not impossible she had an ethnic name that was fairly common...wherever she came from. Her accent was hard to place, actually. Germanic, maybe British even, or...vaguely Scandinavian. It gave him a serious case of the heebie jeebies, as he had been dreaming about Norse myths and here out of nowhere a woman who spoke in a manner suggestive of the Scandinavian peoples who created those myths.
One big damn coincidence, and it didn't sit right with Don, not one bit.
"My husband is in a faraway place,"
"Norway, perhaps?" Don joked, but in a friendly way. Jane worried for a moment that her boyfriend was flirting with the wounded girl. But she trusted him. He was the loyal and faithful one woman type of man. But this girl gave Jane the willies too, for some reason she couldn't understand. Her life had been decidedly full of the willies since the first night that Donald awoke in a cold sweat, shouting strange words. Words like Mjolnir, Odin, Loki..and Sif. That name was something she was afraid of more than anything. In the dreams, he spoke to Sif as he did to Jane in waking life. Was this girl Sif? It was impossible. Sif was an imaginary goddess, there was nothing going on here but stress. This girl was a coincidence nothing more.
"I'm sure he'd be happy to know it is you taking care of me."
Donald was unsure why she would say that about a man who her husband had no way of knowing a damn thing about. Well, that was something to look into. But for now, they had to get her onto the ambulance. He followed her and the paramedics, as he had promised, Jane following along and pouting.
"I am here for you," Donald said, " I will make sure they get you the best treatment. And don't worry about insurance. I got you covered. I got into this to help people, not to get rich..."

"Indeed, Norway," Sigyn said, smiling a smile laced with agony. The agony was entirely fake, of course, but well, she had just been hit by a car, of course she was in some kind of pain, was she not?
She could almost see the confusion on his face. Honestly, had she been in his place, she'd be as confused about it. Little did Sigyn know that he was already having dreams. His memory was slowly returning to him, it seemed.
The paramedics arrived, did their business and a moment later, Sigyn was lying on a stretcher, being pushed towards the ambulance. This was quite annoying, she was neither injured, nor in shock, could work perfectly well. Sigyn Laufeyson was not someone who fancied being dependent on other's help. It was for a greater good, though. For Asgard, maybe. She still thought Loki would be a better ruler, a better king for Asgard, with his wit and brains and tactics, much in contrast to Thor's raw violence and desire for battle. But Asgard without Thor was weird. Underneath all the pokerfaces, Loki was missing his brother. She wanted him to return.
"Money is not a problem," Sigyn murmured, her gaze being on Donald at all times, "not for you and not for me. You are rich already, my lord." Maybe, she was going out on a limb calling him by his title. Oh well, what could possibly happen? Odin was quick on the trigger when it came to exiling people, she knew that. But she'd take the risk for now. If Odin ever learned about this, that was. "Dearest," Sigyn suddenly said, her gaze on Jane all of a sudden, "You must not fret, I have no intentions to romance him. I am married to a good man. A prince." Oops, another little slip, was it not? The Lady Sif would not like this, her man with this woman. But then again, Thor had never truly committed to the poor lady.
