Sigyn had absolutely loved it.
Loki - being a good husband - had taken her to Midgard. It had been her first time, actually. Midgard had been quite different to Asgard in many way. Still, they had had lots of fun. Loki had shown her places he had seen before, had taken her to various locations, spots in nature as well as crowded cities. Midgard was less magical than Asgard, less spheric. Sigyn knew, she'd return whenever she could, maybe one day even by herself. Of course, if she had a say in it, she'd come here with her husband.
They had been married for a while now. Things were going good. With every day passing, Sigyn loved him more and more, discovered sides of him she had not known before, even if it were just little things like a face or something he said. She was literally addicted to him and she knew, he felt the same.
Tonight however, Loki was out to meet with his brother and fellow warriors to discuss some news from Muspelheim. Sigyn had stayed in, merely because she had just returned from their vacation and wanted to rest a little. However, she had somehow been restless. At first, she had just had a glass of wine. But then, Sigyn had remembered something. Of course, she had brought stuff from Midgard, which she hid in her dressing room, in a drawer. One man had sold her a cigarette, that was supposed to make you feel 'incredible', as he had put it. Sigyn had just wanted to get that man off her back, because he had bothered her too much, so she had bought it. Right now however, she was glad she had done so.
Half an hour later, Sigyn was standing on the balcony, that was attached to their bedchamper, smoking what was going to be called 'dope' in a few thousand years, feeling particularly extraordinary and reckless. After half of this cigarette, she thought it might be better not to finish it entirely. She already felt...what was she feeling like? Dizzy? Yes. Light-headed? A bit? But moreover, she felt ...amused.
Stubbing the remains of the cigarette out, she turned and stumbled, barely managed to hold herself against the wall.
HOW STUPID WAS SHE?
After she had gathered herself, Sigyn just......started to laugh. At first, it was just a small chuckle. But it did not stop. In her current mind, she had just done the most ridiculous, funny thing, stumbling and almost falling. Her stomach started to ache. She held it with her hand, slid down at the wall until she was sitting in the dark of the balcony, laughing her royal behind off. Tears were streaming down her face.
Never in her life had something been this funny.
No, really.

In all honesty, Loki had never been a fan of Midgard. He found the realm dull, backwards, and filled with far too many imbecilic creatures. The place had its better areas, though, and he had shown those to Sigyn, as an introduction to Midgard of sorts. She had enjoyed it, as far as he could tell. They had traveled all over, to a variety of places, abandoned islands and growing civilizations and everything in between.
He was listening to his father, brothers, and their advisors discuss Muspelheim. Surtur's boldness had been growing, a consequence of no one having put him in his place yet, as Thor told it. Odin, however, preferred to avoid conflict this time, and handle things diplomatically. Loki said little, as he remembered the last time they had gotten into conflict with the fire demons. He had come away with a nasty wound for his trouble, which of course had indirectly led to his and Sigyn's marriage, but that was another thing entirely. In retrospect, that was a battle he did not want to repeat.
As usual, there was much talking and no resulting action, much to Thor's distaste, and in a way, Loki's as well. So much of rulership seemed to be based on empty words and no real decisions. It was a position he did not envy his father.
When the meeting was over, he swept out of the hall and went directly to his wing of the palace, which included everything he and Sigyn needed to get through a day, This was how Loki preferred it, especially on days when he did not wish to see anyone, aside from Sigyn. Those days were growing fewer, though. His relationship with Sigyn had changed much for him, even going so far as to affect his personality a bit. He had opened up to her fully, and so far, she had only accepted him and his faults. That made him happier, and less brooding as well.
"Sigyn?" he called, checking their salon, her dressing room, and their bedchamber with no sign of her. There was an odd sound in their bedroom, though, soft but vaguely recognizable. Approaching the balcony, he found Sigyn tucked into a dark corner, laughing quite hysterically.
He knelt down next to her. There was a familiar smell lingering in the air, which he couldn't quite place. It was not something he would have expected to smell right here and now. "What's so funny?" he asked, a little teasingly, as he looked at her, finding the situation a little funny himself.

By the time Loki APPEARED OUT OF THIN AIR, Sigyn was curled up into a ball, laughing still, while kind of hugging herself. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she wanted to gaze at the stars. The stars were unbelievable. So pretty and so far away, yet so comforting. This nightsky was unbelievable! This whole night was! And even though the ground was made of stone, it was incredibly soft! Was it? Was it?
"Oh," she laughed, trying to get up. However, she couldn't, her body was shaking too much, "I stumbled. I almost fell over. It was hilarious.", she explained what might sound like the most boring situation to laugh about. "Honestly, I smoked this tiny cigarette I bought on our trip and it makes me quite happy. There's some left, but I don't know whe,- oh...here it is!" Grinning as if she had just defeated the whole of Muspelheim in battle all by herself, she knelt in front of him and offered him the second half of that cigarette. "How was your meeting about Muspse,- ...Mupse,-......", Sigyn tried to pronounce it, obviously failing miserably. And so, she fell to her side again, as another fit of laughter shook her body.

The sight was quite a strange one. Sigyn was curled up into a little ball, laughing about nothing Loki could guess. And when she explained it, he still did not quite understand what was funny about it. He did not think her falling was a laughing matter, especially not on a balcony, goddess or not. Then again, it may actually have been a funny fall. Perhaps it was one of those "you had to be there" moments.
So he chuckled a little, to humor her, but did not laugh fully. Not until she explained about her smoking did he figure out what had happened. She must have come across something particularly potent in Midgard. The odd smell now became obvious, now that he was thinking about it. She had gotten her hands on some hemp. That actually was kind of funny.
He took the cigarette from her and looked at it, then started to laugh. She was high. That was not something he had ever expected to see. Laughing a little harder, he wondered where in Midgard this had happened. They had not been together for every waking moment, but he was surprised he had not picked up on this before.
Her attempts at pronouncing "Muspelheim" only made him laugh harder, and soon he was on the floor, clutching his sides, laughing right along with her. A shame they had not discussed Svartalfheim, he thought with a grin. "It was uneventful," he told her, and teased, "It seems you are the one who had the fun."
He shook his head in wonder. "Where ever did you find this, my love?" he asked, still chuckling. He did not expect an actual answer, of course, not when she was in this state. And he was not actually worried about where it had come from. He was just trying to think of ways to distract her while she was this high. Was it mean? Perhaps, but it would be the funniest thing he'd seen in a long time.

Sigyn was having an absolute blast. Of course, it'd be lovely if Loki joined the fun - smoking himself or not -, but she might just as well spend the night out here, laughing at whatever would make her laugh.
Luckily however, he joined her on the ground. All of a sudden, Sigyn hit him against the chest. "OUCH!", she cried, rubbing her hand. Somehow, she had not reckoned with his armor! "Your armor is hard!", she added, seemingly irritated. But as her laughter broke loose a second later, everything was in a good place again. "You must not laugh about me, it is quite a hard word!", she explained herself, trying to sound stubborn, when in fact she had a constant chuckle going on, that was on the edge of turning into hysterical laughter at all times.
"Oh, nooooooooo," Sigyn defended herself yet again, clumsily crawling over the ground so she could climb his lap and straddle him. That, she did, but she didn't bend down or kiss him, she just sat there comfortably with her hands on her thighs. "I was bored the moment you walked out! I had planned on getting some rest, but it did not strike my fancy tonight! So, I smoked that cigarette!" That being said, Sigyn leaned down, her voice turning into a whisper. "I had it in my drawer, bottom one. I have a secret Midgard drawer, where I put things that I brought from there. Do not tell anyone, though!" Sigyn did not realize that he was in fact asking about the origin of this cigarette, not the actual hiding spot. In a couple of thousand years, this drawer would be filled with Skittles most of the times. Skittles and souvenirs.
"Would you like to make a baby tonight, my love? I would absolutely love to make a baby. We have not done it yet. At least, I assume I'd remember had I given birth.", she explained confidently, still sitting atop him. "Where's the cigarette?", Sigyn all of a sudden added, almost sounding suspicious. Loki had had it a second ago, if he destroyed it, she'd be.....well, mad. Or amused.

Before Sigyn hit her hand, Loki had already been laughing; the action just made him laugh harder. He stopped for a moment as she seemed to be genuinely upset, but laughed with her some more once she got started again. Her laughter was infectious. Pausing for a moment more, he reached for her hand and kissed where she had hit it, as though to make it feel better.
She climbed into his lap, and he held her waist, looked at her as she spoke animatedly. Apparently neither of them had been very entertained this evening. But then she gave away her secret drawer, wherein she had put her items from Midgard. His lips twisted slightly at that news.
Oh dear. What else did she have stowed away in that drawer? Loki was tempted to go through it just to make sure there was nothing harmful in it, as she had apparently been able to get some things past him during their trip. That was her personal space, though, and he would not invade it. Besides, he was fairly certain the level of chaos she maintained in her other drawers would apply here. He could never find his way around her stuff. "I won't tell anyone," he promised, an amused smile on his lips.
He gave her a bizarre look as she mentioned making a baby. What a strange thing to say at such a strange moment. "I think you would remember," he said carefully. They had both wanted children for a long time, of course. Was this really the way to get started, though, and was she really capable of making that decision in this state? Not that they had not tried to make a baby beforeā¦ it was just really odd. He'd feel almost as though he were taking advantage of her.
"It's right here," he said, showing her that he still had the little trouble-making cigarette. Surely she knew what she was doing. He had never had to deal with a high Sigyn before. And he was torn between taking her here on the balcony floor and just putting her to bed.
Cupping his hands, he opened them after a moment, releasing a handful of fireflies around them. They blinked to life, adding a serene glow to the scene. If Loki's guess was right, this would be like watching a cat with a new toy.

Of course, Sigyn was in no condition to make a fundamental decision like having children! However, she thought it was a brilliant idea right now! They could make love - which was always great 'fun', as she considered it in this moment,- and moreover, something even more beautiful would come out of it. "In all honesty, my love, your children would come out beautifully, from my womb! I have a good womb!", Sigyn explained, pointing at her stomach. How much would he be taking actual advantage of her, if they had sex right now? It was not like she'd refuse if she were sober, would she? The air was light and still warm, her mood was brilliant, he was beyond gorgeous, she'd be up for ANYTHING involving him.
However, the sight of the funny cigarette distracted her instantly. She took it from him instantly. "Would you like to try it? It's very awe,-", was all she managed to giggle, before Loki was producing those fireflies. Sigyn stopped to talk instantly. Her mouth was gaping open as she stared at the shining little bugs, like a girl that was seeing them for the first time. Carefully, she lifted her hand, as if she were to touch the flies. She did not, though, she waited for them to come to her, which naturally did not happen. "They are so beautiful," she whispered way too quietly for anyone to understand, while assuming he had perfectly well heard her. Sigyn got up instantly, following one particular firefly. Her gaze was on it at all times, as she neared the edge of the balcony. The firefly flew and flew, but Sigyn could not pass, if she did not want to fall off. "Farewell, little friend!", she sang, sounding as sad as she could ever have been. "It's gone," she explained as she was walking back to Loki, sinking down at the wall, knees in front of her chest, "I thought we could become friends." There were countless other fireflies still in the air. But she had chosen that particular one.
And now, it was gone.

The whole scene was rather silly, in the best of ways. Though he was a little concerned, Loki played along, hoping to see where this would lead. Not to children, he figured. A bit of "practice," perhaps. She did seem quite eager about the baby thing.
"I know you have a good womb, darling," Loki said lovingly, patting her tummy. "And we will have many beautiful children together."
She was just as distracted by the fireflies as Loki had expected. However, he had not reckoned on her becoming attached to one. She left his lap as it flew away, then curled up disappointedly at the loss. "There, there," Loki murmured, wrapping his arms around her and kissing her cheek a few times. "We can all be friends with all of them."
Actually, now that he considered it, he was feeling mildly woozy himself. Very mildly, such that it could have been blamed on sleepiness or some other factor. Yet he felt much the same as Sigyn seemed to feel. But surely he would have remembered if he had taken a smoke himself.
Oh, well. A bit of relaxation could not be so bad.
"Here," Loki said, and proceeded to stretch out on the floor, armor and all, lying on his back. Reaching for Sigyn, he pulled her gently so that she laid next to him, with her head near his chest. The remaining fireflies danced above them. "Look at the pictures they draw. So intricate and beautiful."
One of his arms was wrapped around Sigyn; with his free hand, he raised a finger and followed the movements of some of the fireflies. How stunning was their glow! and he had brought them to life himself, with the use of his own magic, through the force of his own will. How wonderful was that?!

Sigyn cuddled into him and sighed. "You are not very comfortable with all that metal and leather on your body," she complained. Even the stone ground of the balcony was more comfortable than her husband right now! But then again, the stone ground of the balcony was not her husband! Decisions, decisions.
Eventually, Sigyn stayed put against him, her head on the metal plates on his chest, looked at the fireflies in the air. Oh, how heavy her eyelids became! Oh, how mesmerizing the fireflies painted the pictures into the air, hypnotizing her, silently singing her to sleep. When had she turned so utterly tired? Sigyn could not remember. In her thoughts, she reminded herself to close her hand around that special cigarette, so she would not drop it if she fell asleep. "Hmm," she murmured, agreeing with Loki, even though her eyes had long been shut. And just a moment later, a calm snore sounded from Sigyn on his chest. She never snored. Ever. It were probably the drugs making her that dizzy. Fact was, she did not share Loki's excitement about the fireflies, because she was as good as fast asleep on that damn hard armor he was wearing. Possibly, she'd have a stiff neck the next day!

As Sigyn cuddled against him, Loki closed his eyes and pulled her closer, not caring that his armor made this very awkward. He could barely feel the armor on him. Everything felt nice, nothing hurt. He felt relaxed, calm, unperturbed. The burdens of the meeting he had just left had now dissipated, and his world consisted of Sigyn, a balcony, and some fireflies.
Something about their closeness had enabled him to pick up on her high easily, and now he shared that high with her. It hardly mattered now, though, since he was falling asleep himself. How tired he had been! It seemed to weigh his eyelids down, press him into a sweet slumber.
However, he woke up a few minutes later, realizing that something was amiss. Soon his sleep-addled mind was able to deduce that while they were on the ground somewhere, they should actually be in bed. With some difficulty, he got up and scooped Sigyn up in his arms, then carried her inside.
He set her down on the bed and tucked her in. Then, using magic to remove his armor and clothes, he climbed into bed next to her, wrapping an arm around her to hold her close. Here he fell asleep again, more comfortably this time.
