Weeks. He had been gone for weeks. This felt like Muspelheim all over again, only that Thor, Loki, the Warriors Three and the Lady Sif had left for Midgard, trying to get a hold of a couple of Asgardian rebels gone rogue, without raising too much attention. Neither of them had doubted the upcoming success of this mission, neither was anyone expecting either of them to get severely hurt. Unlike that one time when Loki had almost died. Almost.
In Asgardian terms, their marriage was still young, even though people on Midgard would not be married for that long, they'd die beforehand. Sigyn had become so accustomed to Loki and their life together so much that going back was not an option. But it had never been one, even during the first days of their marriage.
She had spent days, all most all of the time of his absence, in the chamber of their wing that held all his magical items. Sigyn had built herself a little corner with her stuff. She had been practicing non-stop, almost. She knew, she would never be as good a sorcerer as he was - maybe, because he was entirely Aesir (or so they thought) and she was part dwarf, part Vanir. Who knew? Either way, she slept in his worn tunic, practiced magic and wrote a diary that she might or might not show him. She tried everything to be close to him during his absence. Of course, she had taken care of the one or other duty as a princess, whether it were dinners with Asgard's most cherished women or simply spending time with Frigga. Although Sigyn considered the latter to be quite delightful. It was rather spending time with her mother-in-law than the Queen. She was still in touch with her girlfriends and actually, when she had somehow felt like she didn't belong, these days, they got along better. Every single one of them was married by now, some had even had children already. It had brought them closer. Some of them had treated her differently - with more respect and distance - when she had become princess, but they had later confessed to having felt insecure around her. By now, all was well. Yet, in this matter, they couldn't easily relate. Even though some were married to warriors, huge wars and battles were so rare, that their husbands usually didn't depart to the Nine Realms for missions. However, they tried to distract Sigyn as good as possible, Gudrun in particular.
Said Gudrun was having tea with Sigyn on a beautiful spring day. "......So, I told him that I would not have any of this in our marriage, not even once!", the blonde, tiny woman chuckled, just having told Sigyn about a quarrel with her husband, a noteable colonel of the Asgardian army. Sigyn smiled meaningfully. "What is amusing you, dearest friend?", Gudrun asked, not knowing whether Sigyn's smile was meant to be an offence. "Oh, nothing, it is just that you have....blossomed so much. I would have never thought you would a couple of years back." Gudrun scratched her temple, smiled in confusion. "What do you mean, Sigyn?" Sigyn un-crossed and crossed her legs again, straightened her pale green and golden dress. "Do you remember in our youth, you used to throw yourself at Thor?" "OH NO! I DID NO SUCH THING!" Sigyn only raised a brow. Gudrun's shoulders fell. "I did.", she finally admitted, "I do not know what had gotten into me. I was young and blinded by..." "You do not have to explain yourself, Gudrun," Sigyn said, lifting her teacup to her lips. "I know, I just.....well." "See, the Gudrun admiring the Thunderer would have never told a man off. You would have kissed the ground he had been walking on with soggy, dirty boots. And moreover, you would have never wanted to get married to anyone else, but Thor. Volundr is a good man. And he loves you dearly, it is in his eyes when he looks at you.", Sigyn explained. Gudrun took a breath that rattled from the smile on her face. "As do I. I am so glad I said yes. I would have never imagined falling in love with him like this, when we got married." Sigyn inhaled. "Well, I am glad it turned out well for you. It doesn't always." "It did with Loki and you." "No, Gudrun. Loki and I fell in love long before we got married.", Sigyn said, absent-mindedly looking out of the window, as though he'd just appear on the horizon and come home to her. Gudrun, noticing her friend's mental change, put a hand on Sigyn's knee. "He is going to come back soon. And you can revive your marriage,..." Gudrun said, smiling as viciously as she could, which was not very dark, to say the least. Sigyn put her hand on Gudrun's, met her friend's gaze. "I know he will come back." "It is alright to miss him. You can tell me." Sigyn, struggling to admit to weakness generally, pursed her lips. She knew it was not only natural, but okay to miss someone you held dear. "I do miss him. Terribly. It is like....half of me is gone." "But he's not really gone," Gudrun said softly, "He's here." Pointing at Sigyn's heart, Gudrun smiled warmly at Sigyn, who mirrored that smile. He was. He indeed was. Wherever she went, he was with her.
"Ah, let us not brood, Gudrun, you have things you wanted to tell me!" "I do," Gudrun said, leaning back. Then, suddenly, there were loud noises, voices, sounding from the courtyard and the hallway. A moment later, a knock on the door interrupted the girlfriends for good. "Come in," Sigyn allowed. A servant opened the door. "Princess Sigyn! Your husband has returned. He, his brother and the rest are on the Bifrost as we speak. They are expected on the Great Courtyard within a few minutes. The King and Queen are waiting for you." Sigyn's eyes widened, her heartbeat started to increase. Gudrun - next to her - started to smile. Both women got up. "Thank you. I will be right with them." Gudrun suddenly hugged her friend, squeezed her gently. "I will see you soon, Sigyn. Please, send Loki my regards." "I will," Sigyn said, suddenly becoming almost nervous. Gudrun saw herself out then, leaving Sigyn to take care of herself in the short time she had. She mentally thanked herself for having chosen a dress colored in Loki's colors this morning. After having to her chambers in order to freshen herself up, she hurried to Odin's and Frigga's salon, where they were waiting. Frigga immediately took both Sigyn's hands, squeezed them. "Sigyn, they are alright." Sigyn smiled, but her nervousness showed. Frigga put her hand on her daughter-in-law's cheek. "Very well then, my ladies," Odin said, straightening up. Together, they left the salon and made their way towards the Great Courtyard, guards to their left and right. The sun and spring breeze filled her lungs in an entirely new way as they finally reached the outside and aligned accordingly, Odin standing in front of them, Sigyn and Freia left of him, slightly to the side.
People had gathered already to welcome the warriors. And finally, the noises of hooves hitting the ground were heard. Thor was riding in the front, as usual, but Sigyn's eyes were on Loki immediately, searching for his gaze in order to hold it until he was back in her arms. Her foot, covered by her long dress, was tapping impatiently. By now, she managed to stay in place and not just run towards him, but it took her every control she had. So close. He was so close again. Odin would want to greet them, maybe hold a short speech.
Sigyn didn't know whether she'd make it that long.

At last, the small team arrived on the right side of the Bifrost. Loki could not have been more glad.
The excursion had been anything but glamorous. Since setting foot in Midgard, Loki had been cross. Loki's hatred of Midgard was the stuff of legends. Yet he could have gotten over it, had the expedition gone according to his wishes. Instead, they had spent the trip bickering over how to find the rogues, and what to do once they were found. The whole matter could have been resolved in half the time if they had followed Loki's instructions, he was certain, but no, he had been outnumbered and they had done almost everything Thor's way.
First, Loki had suggested following the trail they had left, doing a bit of investigative work to locate the rogues' last known hiding place. That had not gone over well with Thor, who would have preferred to simply smoke the men out, for lack of a better term, but he went along with it, and after some time, they located the rogues. Then Loki had recommended that they trick the rebels out of their hiding place, a small village on a river, since there were hostages inside as well, and it would be ill-advised to make a bigger scene by getting those mortal hostages killed.
Thor disagreed, insisting that there was no glory in sneaking and trickery, and declared that they go in full force, weapons drawn, and battle the rogues and save the hostages. Initially, everyone save Loki had agreed with Thor, but as Loki continued to explain his reasoning, Sif joined his side. Still, they were outnumbered, and Thor and the Warriors Three went in first, with Loki and Sif reluctantly bringing up the rear.
When all was said and done, every last one of the hostages had been put to the sword, everyone in Thor's party had sustained injuries, and the rogues had been nearly killed in order to subdue them. Additionally, one of the rogues had managed to cut a deep, ugly gash in Fandral's face, and nothing would do but they stay on Midgard until it healed. And Fandral would not let Loki use his sorcery to heal the wound faster. It seemed Fandral did not put much stock in magic.
By the time they made it back to Asgard, Loki was seething, Thor was bored, and the others were only adding to the tension by trying to steer clear of it. Loki had thought he had been brought along for the use of his ability to strategize, but in the end, his suggestions had barely been heeded. What, then, had been his role? Was he only there because of his status? What a waste of time, time he could have spent with Sigyn, instead of away from her. He had not mentioned her at all during the trip, because he suspected that if the others knew how much he missed her, they would never let him live it down.
Riding up to the palace grounds, he instantly saw her, as if he had known exactly where she would be standing. As the others came to a stop, he dismounted, left the reins in the hands of some servant, and immediately went over to her. He did not care what Odin might have to say. He would condemn the captured rogues and sentence them to something, probably death. Loki had done his part in the charade. He slipped away from the group and wrapped an arm around Sigyn.
Everything he needed to say was in his eyes. "Sigyn" was all that passed his lips, forming a smile as he uttered her name. He gave a slight nudge toward the palace, to tell her that he wanted to go inside now, not after Odin spoke, not after Thor rallied the crowd into frenzied cheers, but now, regardless of what anyone may think of them for leaving.

Sigyn knew something was up instantly. Now, in the eye of the beholder, this might have looked as if Loki - after having been away for a while - had a very particular itch to scratch that he could not - for the life of him - postpone any longer. The way he approached her, the way he wrapped his arm around her, breathed her name towards her and nudged her towards the palace. Sigyn knew this was not the case. She knew Loki's face and body language when he dragged her away for sex. This was not such a situation, he seemed severely annoyed and irritated by something and she wondered what it was.
First thing was first, though. When he wrapped an arm around her, Sigyn couldn't help, but fall around his neck and hold him tightly. Her breath rattled from the immense relief his return was bringing her. "Loki," she replied just as simply, keeping her hands on his shoulders when she leaned back. Of course, she gave him a quick once over. No visible wounds, no limping or the like. He seemed physically well. That was a good start.
Now Sigyn had been princess for a while, yet she did not fully have the confidence to ignore protocol entirely, so she was confused as he nudged her towards the palace. But she let go, willing to join him regardless of course. Odin did not seem to agree with his son's plan. "Loki," the Allfather said calmly, but reeking with authority, after he had greeted Thor and the other warriors, who had greeted him just as much. Frigga was watching Loki and Sigyn, too, her hands folded, but shaking as she tried to hold back the embrace that she wanted to give her youngest desperately. Sigyn froze and turned to look at Odin. This was not her call to make, obviously.

Nothing would have been better in that moment than slipping away from the crowd and retreating deep inside their wing of the palace, just Loki and Sigyn, with no one to bother them. The wing of the palace had been something of a gift, but also a necessity, upon Loki's marriage. Prior to that he had lived closer to his parents' quarters. Now he would need his own space to raise his family, for no one expected him to move out; even though he would likely never rule Asgard, unless Thor chose otherwise, he would be kept nearby in an advisory capacity.
Loki embraced Sigyn and the gesture was returned. Indeed, sex was far from his mind, until the warmth and smell of her reminded him of that possibility, but that also was just a faint and fleeting thought. The mission was on his mind; though they had brought back the rebels, Loki considered the mission a failure. No one had been seriously injured, aside from Fandral, but they had left a few dead mortals in their wake, and that was never a good way to leave things.
Besides, there was little glory in bringing back two half-dead thugs. A death sentence would be a relief for them, who were still suffering from the wounds dealt them by the Thunderer in his battle-crazed haze. In Loki's view, they had all failed to achieve what they had wanted - Thor and his friends had not found glory, and Loki had been completely ignored. Yet Thor would still get his glory, because he was who he was.
Loki would have been happy to just go indoors, or at least away from everyone, but the sound of his father's voice put a slight damper on that idea. If Loki had been irritated before, now he was furious. It had been Odin's and Frigga's idea to send him on the trip, and for what? To see his brother gain more unearned glory? No! He had been of almost no consequence on this trip; they might better have left him behind to enjoy his still-new marriage.
He turned to look at his parents slowly, and felt a little bad when he saw the demeanor Frigga carried. After squeezing Sigyn's shoulder, he left her side to embrace Frigga briefly, and looked at Odin with obvious anger and defiance in his eyes. Slowly he spoke. "Not… now."
It was a challenge. Everyone within hearing range knew it, and those who had not heard Loki's softly spoken words could see it in his face, in his tense posture. Why Loki was even attempting this when he knew he would lose, he had no idea. His judgment was clouded by his fury and his desire to get away from everything. Yet he glared at Odin, stared him down long enough to inform Odin of his intentions before walking past him toward the palace, already slipping into a sulk. Clearly he would need Sigyn's soothing words, and most likely her wisdom as well.

And Odin glared back. The tension between them was almost tangible. Sigyn figured she could cut it with a knife if she pleased. Odin was a man that did not speak until his thoughts were absolutely clear. Right now, he was obviously pondering how to treat his son for this. The Allfather was not a reckless, rude man. There was compassion somewhere inside of him. And maybe that compassion won today, for Odin let Loki depart. His son had been away for quite a while, had fought, had made Asgard proud - or so Odin thought. So maybe, this time, Loki would get away with it. Sigyn released a breath that she had not realized she was holding and caught up with Loki, hands folded in front of her, chin up high. Together, they vanished into the palace.
The echo of Loki's heavy boots hitting the ground filled the hallway, everything was absolutely quiet. Neither of them said a word, until the doors that led to their chambers were finally closed. Sigyn exhaled again, slowed down until she stopped, even before they had entered the salon. Her gaze softened, the pride vanished and she closed the distance to him. She just held his gaze for a little while. Loki was dangerous in a mood like that. Sigyn recalled having gotten choked and pushed into a cold bathtub in a mood like this, or at least a similar one. "I have missed you so, my only," she started in nothing but a mere whisper, as she dared to lift her fingertips to his cheek. It was wiser to either let him decide what he wanted to talk about or get back at the topic once his anger had faded. She would dig deeper, she just wouldn't do it now. Sigyn didn't want to risk Loki snapping. For both their sakes.

Their love was still new, the passion still fresh, as fresh as the memories they still carried from their first months together. And when Loki stared Odin down, it became clear that he was in a very volatile mood. In very few instances would Loki attempt such a thing, even though he always bore more than a little anger toward his father. However, Odin let him go without a word; Loki suspected this was not the last he had heard of the matter, though.
As he strode toward the palace, he remembered having felt something like this before, but that time, Sigyn had been the victim of his anger. More than likely, they would be alone in the palace, and Loki would have to try very hard not to misdirect his anger onto her. He was accustomed to throwing his anger onto whoever happened to be around, usually servants. Such as he had that morning before his violent fight with Sigyn.
Once they were inside their wing, Loki immediately sat down, ignoring the fact that he was still in full, and somewhat dirty, armor. He felt exhausted. When she touched his cheek, he leaned into her touch, reminding himself that she was only trying to help. She was not at fault.
"And I have missed you, my love," he told her, his voice gentle. Still, there was a slight tension in his jaw that denoted anger and frustration. He buried his face in his hand for a moment, then looked at her for a long moment before launching into his story.
"It did not go well. We could have saved the villagers. But Thor was brash and insisted on running in blind. The moment we stormed the hut, the rogues killed the hostages. We could have saved them, if Thor and the others had listened to me."
It was clear that Loki was not broken up over the loss of a few mortals. More precisely, he was annoyed at having been ignored, especially when he had known he was right. He did not explain further at the moment, just shook his head and took Sigyn's hand, rubbing it tenderly, acknowledging her presence even as his thoughts drifted off to the events of that ill-fated mission.

Sigyn sat down on his lap as he took a seat. This dress could be washed, his armor polished. It was he that mattered most right now. He and his dangerous mood. Sigyn kept her hand on his cheek as she noticed how he responded to her touch. Loki calmed down, not to a point of actually being calm, but at least, the anger seemed to be fading gradually. Good. He could not hurt her again.
Especially not in the state she was in. But Loki did not know that just yet.
She listened closely as he explained. It was the same old story. Loki being underestimated, battle and raw violence being cherished. It angered her and so she frowned. How could they not rely on his expertise? It was Loki who was the strategist, not Thor. It was Loki who could do better than his battle-happy brother. "They are fools for not listening to you," Sigyn said almost cooly, "I do not understand how they can be so dull. They should know better than rely on their fists and weapons. This," she said, pointing at her temple, "Is what they need. And you have it." Leaning in, she held his head in place and put a sweet kiss on his temple, let her lips linger. "Your time will come, my love. And when it does, they will realize the extents of their idiocy. And we will secretly giggle about it. What....had you wanted to do?" Having him explain his tactics to her might make him feel taken seriously. She did take him seriously. Sigyn would have followed his orders. There was more she wanted to do and say. Mostly, she wanted to bury her face into that dirty curve of his neck, but so far, there was armor and his mood in the way. They had not seen each other for four and a half weeks. Even though time did not truly matter to them, it had felt like a decade. "Tell me what you need, Loki?" He looked like a meal and a bath would be needed, but maybe, he was not in the mood for either.

Sigyn's words were comforting indeed, and gave him a much-needed ego boost. He gave a slight nod as she pointed at her temple. It was true. He could think when the others could not, or more specifically, when they wished not to. If only they had listened instead. They all could have been home much sooner, Fandral could have avoided his injury, and the rogues would have been brought back in fit conditon to face the Allfather's judgment.
"I wanted to trick or lure the rebels out of hiding. At the very least, we could have sneaked into the house and taken them by surprise, and spared the lives of the hostages. But Thor insisted on a frontal assault, and as soon as the rogues saw us, they killed the mortals. It was a mess, and one that could well have been avoided." He shrugged. Now that he was talking about it in retrospect, he was able to calm down, and soon it was clear he posed no threat to Sigyn.
"I need…." He sighed and slouched a little, then placed his hands on Sigyn's waist. "Time to forget it and let it pass. And perhaps a massage." He gave her a little but wicked smile, now looking more like his usual self. Drawing her closer, he brushed his hand along her cheek and through her hair. "I have missed you," he murmured, although he had already said as much.

Sigyn did not only say and ask what she had said and asked in order to make him feel better. It was her honest opinion. Loki was smarter than Thor, Sif and the rest of the group together. It was too bad that Thor did not realize how much the usage of one's brain could do for situations of battles and fights. His idea of 'honor' was entirely in the way. "That sounds like a better plan to me," she agreed, frowning in compassion for the people that have died. Like Loki, Sigyn too thought herself above the Midgardian mortals, but not in a judgmental, derogative way, but as a matter of fact. People that have died had been brothers, sisters, children, husbands. And thinking about her husband dead was not a very comfortable thought.
When he finally touched her waist, she slid a bit closer and leaned her forehead against his temple. There was this tug inside of her that yet needed to be satisfied. It was nothing sexual, but it felt like they had not properly said hello to each other just yet. "Then this you shall get. Would you like a hot bath before or after that massage? Or maybe, at the same time?", Sigyn asked. She knew how to massage him so that it'd actually help relax his sore muscles. Sigyn had learned it, so that she could do it. She didn't like the thought of another woman - or man - having their hands on her almost naked husband. Sigyn wrapped her arms around him, ignored his battle armor, that made every hug a little harsh, and held him tightly. A sigh erupted from her lips. "You cannot possibly imagine how much I have desired this day to come. I've counted the days.", she breathed. Now that he was back, there was this short period of time when she missed him most. How odd.

The plan Loki had suggested would have saved effort and lives, but it would have led to less opportunity for battle, and so it had been rejected. It was quite the same as it always was. Really, Loki was not sure why he had expected better. The same thing seemed to happen every time he and Thor and their friends were sent out on a mission. Being given such an assignment was not a frequent thing, but when it did happen, he and Thor always ended up at odds, and Thor always "won." It could not truly be called a win, since his plan usually ended up being more costly, more bloody than Loki's. Yet that meant more glory, so in the end, the warriors called it a success.
But it was time for Loki to turn his mind away from such tiresome trifles. A hot bath sounded like an excellent idea, and with Sigyn's expert touch soothing his muscles, the deal was made that much more appetizing. "At the same time," he told her with certainty. He could imagine her fingers deftly undressing him, their lips meeting in passionate kisses, her easing him into the warm tub…. But he was getting ahead of himself. Why spoil the moments before they came? He brushed his nose against hers as she sighed. "Let us hope no more foolishness takes me away for a long time," he said.
Easing her off his lap so he could stand, he divided his attention from her only long enough to call a servant to prepare the bath. Once that was done, he returned to Sigyn, while starting to unfasten his cape. "Help me?" he asked, a little teasingly, since already she knew how to get him our of his armor much faster than he did.

At times, Sigyn secretely dreamed of joining Loki in battle. She was good with her weapons, her spear in particular. Sigyn enjoyed physical combat, pushing her body to its limits. But being magically skilled, her mind was not limited to fighting someone face to face. Moreover, she was quite impressed by the capacity of Loki's mind to strategize and scheme. Maybe, she was somehow a good mixture of Thor and Loki, who knew. However, women in battle, like the Lady Sif, were a rare exception to the rule. Sigyn doubted she'd get many chances to join him, especially since she was a princess now.
She had never expressedly voiced those thoughts to Loki, but he knew she loved to spar with him, he was aware of her passion, when she held her double-ended spear. The mission he had returned from sounded like something she'd be able to handle. Moreover, she would have been able to support her husband, had she been present. However, now was not the time to brood over all those 'what if's'. Now was the time to make Loki feel good, help him recover and break some news to him.
Sigyn put her hand on his cheek briefly and stole a kiss from his lips. She closed her eyes for just a second, but then, got off his lap. Loki called for a servant in order to get his bath fixed and started to lose his armor. Sigyn smiled, took care of the matter and a moment later, his dark green, dirty cape hung over her arm. "You will need a new one," she said, frowning as she looked at the remains of it. "Come on." After all, they were still in the hallway. Both changed to their bedchamber, where Sigyn proceeded to unfasten the many buckles, buttons and laces that held his armor together. It was made of amazing, Asgardian steel and looked fine, apart from the dried stains of blood and dirt. "Is any of this yours?", Sigyn asked as she took a pretty bloody plate off his chest. For all she knew, had he gotten hurt, he could have healed himself. Thinking about Loki being cut so badly that he bled was uncomfortable regardless.
A knock on the door interrupted them. "My lord, your bath is ready," the servant announced. "Thank you, we will not need any assistance," Sigyn proclaimed. Having servants came in handy every now and then, they'd provide towels and another bucket of hot water, scrub your back or do whatever you'd need them to do. But Sigyn didn't want anyone around in this situation. They had not seen each other in forever. Nothing sexual had to happen to make her want to be alone with Loki.
She took off the last plate, which left him stand there in his slacks and tunic. "I am not so sure whether you are able to take off those yourself, my lord?", Sigyn said, clearly teasing.

With Sigyn at his side, things certainly would have been different. Loki had been able to convince the Lady Sif that he was right, but Sigyn could have persuaded the others, particularly Thor. For whatever reason, they tended to listen to Sigyn. Perhaps Loki had tricked them one too many times for them to heed his words even when he was being sincere.
She took care of his armor, taking off each piece much more carefully than Loki would have. Looking at the chestplate, he thought about her question for a moment. "No," he answered, "that is the blood of one of the rebels. And perhaps Fandral, as I was standing nearby when he took a fairly bloody slash to the face."
He had not gotten away completely unscathed, but he did not recall having taken any hits that had drawn blood. He did recall having been punched in the chin, and there had been a slight discoloration there for a short while. The bruise had healed faster than Fandral's cut, and so now there remained no sign of it or any of his other few injuries at all.
The servant appeared again and Sigyn sent her away, an excellent move that Loki appreciated. He wanted to be alone with his wife, especially after such a long and trying time apart. "My fingers are stiff from so much horse riding," Loki answered, with more than a hint of mischievousness. Of course, he wanted her to take them off. It would be part of the experience.
"Will you be joining me, my princess?" he asked, ready to exercise those "stiff fingers" if she was planning to enjoy the water along with him. But then, taking a bath with him in this condition would probably lead to her being dirtier than she had been, as he was still covered in dirt and sweat; and he was certain she had already taken her bath today. Sigyn seemed to love her baths.

"Have you healed him?", Sigyn asked carefully. She would not be surprised if Fandral had refused any kind of magic to be used on him. Although being admired, Fandral was possibly the one of the three warriors Sigyn liked least. He made great fun out of Loki every so often. Volstagg did the same, but Fandral did it with such arrogance that Sigyn had been a second short of slashing his face herself a couple of times already.
"Oh, of course they are," she said, smirking just as she was. And suddenly, Sigyn felt that comfortable nervousness young lovers had to endure ever so often, so much that she was almost shaking as she tugged at his tunic and slowly started to undress him entirely. His body looked the same, no bruises, nothing, just dirt. Good. Perhaps, taking a bath - whatever this might mean now, after such a long time - was the best idea. Sigyn had no idea how to break the news to him. Somehow, she had been happy about his bad mood, because it had given her reason to postpone talking to him about that particular matter. "I will," she whispered, almost meekly smiling at him, while she folded his tunic. A redundant mission, it had to go into the laundry anyway, if it could be saved for that matter. Of course, she had taken her bath this morning and naturally, Sigyn was clean, smelling nicely and well dressed. But that did not change the fact that she was reluctant to let him bathe and relax and just wait for him or sit close. She almost wanted to crawl inside of him, so much did she need to be close now. Close to the naked prince right in front of her. Sigyn inclined her head and put a kiss on his smelly chest, sweetly exhaling. "Come," she said, taking his hand to lead him to the bathroom. She couldn't tease and make jokes now, her feelings were to severe, to earnest to do that right now. So when Loki entered the tub, Sigyn unlaced her dress. She'd step in behind him, so she could take care of these sore muscles of his. "I have imagined you like this a lot lately," she said, pushing her dress over her shoulders, "Yet my imagination did not live up to reality in the slightest."

The look on Loki's face after hearing Sigyn ask about Fandral would give her all the answer she needed, but he spoke his response as well. "He refused my offers. Had I healed him, we would have been home sooner, and the cut would not have scarred over. It will fade soon, but for now it is a visible sign of his stubbornness and Thor's recklessness."
Scowling for a moment, Loki pushed the irritation to the back of his mind so he could focus on Sigyn and the comfort she brought him. He could see how nervous she was. Once his tunic was gone, he placed his hands on her shoulders to steady her, to calm her. He chuckled softly as she kissed his chest, which was not clean or sweet-smelling by any means.
A little while later, he was stepping into the tub. The water was warm and welcoming. He remained standing to help Sigyn in once she was undressed, and gave her a small smile as she spoke about her imaginings. "Come here and we will make reality even better," he told her, reaching out a hand to help her in. He had no intention of making anything more of this than an innocent bath and massage, but they would see where things would go. For now, he was just interested in spending time with her, in catching up with what he had missed over the past few weeks.

She took his hand, but insisted on going in behind him. Sigyn opened her legs as she sat, so he could lean his back against her front. She'd give him the massage he needed once they had adjusted, after a little talk. For now, she just put her arms down his front, gently stroked his chest in the water and kept the side of her face leaned against his temple.
When they were finally calmly sitting in the warm, fragrant water, Sigyn couldn't help but close her eyes and calmly exhale in nothing but affection and relief. This was where he belonged, too. Not only into battle, fulfilling his duty as a prince and Asgardian male, but into her arms. With her. "Gudrun has been incredibly sweet to me during your absence. I am so thankful that our friendship has turned this close. She sends her regards. I spent a lot of time with your mother, too and she was sweet enough to share some sweet memories, but I am afraid I'd have to kill you if I told you what she told me," Sigyn spoke quietly, actually chuckling. "Not much has been going here while you were gone, though. I had the pleasure of attending some events on your behalf and it was actually better than I would have expected. Did you know that there is a little girl from West Asgard that happens to have a crush on you. She apologized to me and promised that she respected our marriage. I offered her to give my regards to you on her behalf, but she only blushed and shook her head by the way, I am pregnant." Sigyn froze. Literally. She had not planned this to go like that, but the words had just slipped her lips as pressure had built up within her. Her hands stopped stroking him and she held her breath as realization set in.
