Sigyn was braiding her hair in front of her mirror. She was getting ready for bed, had changed into her night gown. Today had been the first uneventful, quiet day in weeks. Annual celebrations for the fallen warriors of Asgard had taken place during the last three weeks. One dinner, party, official event had chased the other, most of which Sigyn and Loki had attended. Sigyn had always been torn about her standing as princess. Some things were exhausting, annoying even. Putting on a face that wasn't hers did not find her fancy. She liked low-key things more. Talking to people, maybe every now and then, be an inspiration for little girls. Who knew, maybe she was? Sigyn wouldn't be as arrogant as to think herself this admirable.
Loki shared her mixed feelings. They had sublty and silently made their jokes throughout these three weeks. They had even suck away for sex in between ceremonies. Both of them were relieved it was over.
The door opened and Loki was returning, finally. "Bless the gods, I thought I had lost you to the endless abyss of mead and chicken legs,", Sigyn joked, turning on her chair as she was tying her braid tightly, a smile on her face.

Feasting became old quickly, at least for Loki. He never understood what appeal a three-week feast had. There was continuous eating, drinking, dancing, drinking, merriment, and drinking. All those things were excellent over a short time, but did no one else find it tedious after several days?
Sigyn did, at least. She seemed as tired of it all as Loki was. Putting on a new face, sometimes a false face, to make others believe they were enjoying themselves was nothing but a chore.
Entering their chambers, he found Sigyn quickly, where she was braiding her hair. As she joked, he chuckled and bent down to wrap his arms around her. The feel of her in his arms never grew old. After so much time, one might think that it would, but it never had. Loki was immensely glad for that.
"I had to swim a sea of mead to get here," he replied, rocking her gently. He had eaten and drunk his fill, and then left at the earliest opportunity. He meant no disrespect for the fallen warriors, but again, did they really require three weeks of honor? Surely a few days would have sufficed?
"Let's get away from here," he whispered suddenly. "Let's go somewhere distant. Let's go to Midgard." A surprising suggestion coming from him, who loathed that realm, but he was in an inspired mood. He wanted to do something to make his wife happy. And mostly, he wanted to travel away from here. And he always did what he wanted.

"Let go of me, you savage!", Sigyn laughed as Loki was rocking her. "Are you still drunk or drunk again?", she added, her amusement still audible in her voice. She had been drunk the one or other night during the past three weeks herself. That one night, Loki and her had had that secret drinking game. Loki had won, Sigyn had not felt as bed as she had the other morning in a while. Well, they had their techniques about 'how to survive three week long celebrations'.
She was pretty much looking forward to going to bed and talk a little, but then all of a sudden, Loki's suggestion had her wide awake. Sigyn pushed him a little, so he'd let go of her. She got up, took him by his wrists. The princess was almost giddy. "Pardon me, come again? I think I have heard you suggest going to Midgard!" The realm was not exactly Loki's favourite place. It wasn't Sigyn's either, but she liked it. She loved coffee and skittles and strangely high heeled shoes. And she had not been there in a while. She knew he was trying to make her happy. Loki had succeeded.

No, Loki was not drunk, though he was not entirely sober either. He only laughed as Sigyn pretended to resist, and rubbed her shoulders lightly. Being drunk on occasion had helped them get through the tedious celebrations, and no one had cared since everyone had been drunk. The drinking game had been the best. In the end, Loki had won it, as he seemed to be somewhat better at handling his mead. Besides, a drunk Sigyn was always interesting.
He chuckled when Sigyn jumped up at his suggestion. He had hoped to cheer her, and it seemed he had. "You have heard correctly," he told her. He could bear going to Midgard now, especially if it meant getting away, and if it meant Sigyn would enjoy herself. If both were true, and they would be, then he would enjoy their time spent there as well.
"Where should we go? A tropical paradise? A mysterious forest?" One thing that could be said of Midgard was that it had a variety of landscapes. If they used the Bifröst, they would be dropped in the middle of the desert, but then they could teleport from there. Or they could bypass Heimdall completely and Loki could use his sorcery to open a direct portal to wherever they chose to go.

Of course, Loki handled his mead better than Sigyn. It all came down to biology, really. He was taller and heavier than her. Maybe, it even had to do something with his parentage, who knew? Fact was, Sigyn was drunk way sooner than him. That did not keep her from asking him to compete with her, secretly, of course, as a princess should not engage in such acts, at least not publicly. It was about fun, not victory, so she thought. Loki was more competitive, so he'd be happy about winning, she'd be content being drunk. It was always fun.
Indeed, she could not have been happier about his suprise. Of course, she felt differently about Midgard than Loki, but going away with him was a wonderful thing, because they'd be able to spend genuine quality time together, in a place that did not know who they were. It was calm and they could focus on each other and only each other. While Loki disliked the lack of fame on Midgard, Sigyn loved it. There, she was not a princess. She appeared to be a regular citizen. She felt more free there. Squealing, she fell around his neck, pulled herself against him and laughed. "Splendid", she said, putting a couple of kisses on the side of his face. She remained close as she leaned back to watch his face. "I do not know! I do not care! You are already sweet enough to take me there, so I'll follow your lead." Maybe, he'd prefer to go somewhere void of people. Or maybe, he'd feel like going somewhere crowded? Sigyn would go wherever he pleased. She could imagine spending some time in a nice hotel, devouring amazing Midgardian food. Either way, they'd be on holiday together. She moved her hands up his armor, over his shoulders and down, until she found his hands, that were one of the few parts of his body his armor did not cover. Loki looked huge, impressive with the gold shoulderplates and the long cape. Sigyn loved it. "You never cease to amaze me, my love," Sigyn said quietly.

This time, Loki preferred to go somewhere alone with Sigyn, to find a special spot all their own. A small village, perhaps, somewhere scenic. He pictured waterfalls and beaches and an open sky. There were many such places in Midgard that Loki knew of, but only somewhere peaceful would do. Somewhere where no one would care who they were. Somewhere worthy of his princess.
He kissed her cheek lightly and smiled. "Give me time to dress, my love, and we will leave straightaway." They could spend the night - or whatever time it happened to be wherever they chose to go - and come back to Asgard whenever they wished. No one would miss them overnight, and if they chose to stay away longer, well, the court would just have to deal with it.
"Unless, of course, you would like to help me undress?" No one was faster at disassembling Loki's armor than Sigyn, and he did always enjoy having her hands on him for any reason. Once he was free of the armor, he would dress in something less unusual in Midgardian terms, and they would be off to spend some time together, far away from the pressures of their lives.

"Well," Sigyn said, a seductive smirk curling her lips. She leaned against him, with her hand wound around his middle. Slowly, she moved her deft fingers over his armor, until they found the first strap that needed to be loosened in order to properly start taking it off him. "You should reconsider, darling. Because you choose me to take this off tonight, we will hardly go anywhere." And with that said, the strap was loosened. Sigyn did not wait for him to decide whether he wanted her to take it off, she simply continued. Slowly. She could be much faster. For now, she just made do with continuously taking off plate by plate. "I would like something that includes an ocean. Something secluded, maybe? We could go and visit a city the one or other day, if we please. But if I am to decide, I want something peaceful and...luxurious." She would not want to sleep in the forest. She wanted a huge soft bed and servants, peferably residing directly by the beach. Sigyn loved open waters. And she loved to take baths entirely naked, but this would not happen on a public beach. "I want to mess up your sandy and salty hair and have it hanging in your face, so I can slowly stroke it away. And I desire staring at your perfect body without the hindrance of clothes taking my view. Do you think you could deliver?"

Smirking right back at her, Loki placed his hands at her waist as she removed his armor. They could have an enjoyable night at home, of course, but Loki was certain Sigyn would find the inspiration to wait until they had reached Midgard, wherever it is they chose. He thought of beaches in the mortals' Pacific Ocean, or perhaps the Caribbean Sea, or the Mediterranean Sea for something slightly different. He knew the realm's geography very well for someone who hated going there. The many trips he'd had to make on various missions had helped with that.
He was glad they seemed to have the same ideas - a beach, seclusion. Luxury as well. They would find somewhere private, regardless of what it may cost. Money was no object for them in Asgard, much less Midgard. Compared to the mortals, they must have been at least as rich as the ten richest of mankind. Still, all Loki had to do, and all he planned to do, in any case, was to use a bit of trickery and sorcery to get them just the amount of privacy they needed.
"Of course I can. I can deliver it all, and more." His voice was so smooth it was almost a purr. He gave her a little grin and ran a hand through her hair. "If you wish to change or take anything with you, you might wish to take care of that now," he advised. He was sure their every need and wish would be provided for, but just in case, there might be something she would like to take along - though more than likely it would turn out to be her bringing things back to Asgard, knowing how she loved its little items.

"Looooki, how am I supposed to remove your armor probably if you touch me like this," Sigyn laughed as he put his hands on her hips, referring to both, being touched by him and having his arms in the way of working. However, she was skilled. Removing his armor properly had been one of the first things she had learned, because oftentimes, she had just wanted to get it off as soon as possible. She was faster with it than he was anyway. Sometimes, in the evening, it even had some calming effect on her. Patiently taking his armor off while having a conversation was a ritual they both cherished.
After having removed the last plate, leaving him standing there in his tunic and pants, he advised her to pack her things now rather than later. Right now, Sigyn felt like curling up in bed with him and leave in the morning. However, Loki was eager to depart as soon as possible. Sigyn huffed, dropped her shoulders. She quickly took his face into her hands, went to her tiptoes and pecked his lips. "Alright, I'll be with you in a minute.", she said. They'd arrive wherever they'd go and then, they'd have all the time in the world. Sigyn just packed a small satchel with the ointments and ties she needed to make do, just a few Midgardian clothes and within no time, she was back with him, dressed in a long, flowerish gown she had bought on Midgard a couple of years back. If they chose wisely, they'd end up on a warm beach and might even be able to sleep underneath the stars. Loki was not in the room, she figured he was in his own dressing room. "You know I think you are absolutely, devastatingly handsome in Midgardian clothes, don't you?", Sigyn smiled, sitting down on the edge of the bed, waiting for Loki to join her.

If Sigyn truly wanted to wait until the morning, then she was entitled to take that risk. For if she did wait, it was possible that Loki would wake up in a bad mood. It was more than likely, since he had been drinking - not enough to be well and truly drunk, but enough to feel it in the morning. In the morning, then, he would likely tell her they would go to Midgard another time.
Loki knew that. He expected he would try to pull something like that if they waited. Once Sigyn left to dress, he did as well, as she had successfully relieved him of the armor that he had worn to the feast that night. If he were not so accustomed to wearing his armor, his body probably would have been sore from having worn it so often in the past three weeks.
He did not keep many items of Midgardian clothing, aside from a couple of suits he happened to like, and a few scarves. He found a pair of slacks and a dress shirt; the suit seemed overdressed for a stay on a beach with only Sigyn. Besides, he fully expected to either ruin the clothes with sand, spend most of his time undressed, or, more likely, both.
Soon he joined Sigyn in their room, and found her clothed in a flowery dress he had always liked the look of. Only on her, though. Sigyn seemed to think she could fit into a group of mortals easily, and in such clothing it was certainly a possibility, but to Loki she was much too beautiful and carried herself much too well to ever blend in with them.
"Then I hope my attire pleases you," he told her with a small smile. He took her hand and gave her a very approving once-over. "Shall we?" he asked, ready to take them both to their planned destination.

Knowing her husband's antics, Sigyn should have been wiser than to postpone their departure. Or ask for it. But she had been overwhelmed with surprise. Maybe, she would have found a way to convince him to go in the morning, maybe not. Fact was, she might be smarter if she took advantage of his tipsy, open-minded and happy mood. Once they were out on a deserted, Midgardian island, he wouldn't want to go back, would he? And if so, she'd dispose of her swimming attire and fix the situation. Women and their wicked ways, some principles applied to every species. Even gods.
When he joined her, Sigyn's eyes started to shine even more. Sigyn could not possibly take her eyes off him. He looked devastatingly handsome in this attire. Sure, it would be a bit out of place on the beach, but that didn't change the fact that she was just struck. Sigyn did not say a word for quite a while, just smiled as she gave him a long, thorough once over. "But Loki," she said, standing and coming over to him, "It always does." Sigyn brushed her hands over his dress shirt. It did not need to be straightened out. Loki was quite vain to begin with, he wouldn't have dressed in a dirty or crinkled shirt. But it was a nice excuse to touch him, was it not?
"Yes, we shall. Would you like to take the Bifrost?", Sigyn asked. Loki could teleport them. That might leave him a little exhausted. Oh, but it was a splendid idea! "Unless you want to teleport us, in which case I assure you're going to receive proper care afterwards." She grinned sweetly, almost innocently. Innocence was not on her mind, right now.

Beach attire had never been one of Loki's favorites. He preferred pants to shorts, and he seldom wore jeans. Those tropical shirts of various colors that vacationing mortals liked to wear made his eyes burn. Mortal men truly had no sense of comfortable fashions. Everything was either too dressy or too ugly to be seen in public in.
But a tunic of Asgardian make would have stood out too much, so Loki was more or less forced to dress like the mortals. He was not going to compromise his sense of style, though. Besides, he was determined to find a private beach, and in such a case, he would probably be naked or near to it the whole time anyway.
Loki gave her a sly smile as she asked about the Bifröst. He did intend to teleport them, rather than travel the rainbow bridge and have to depend on Heimdall to get them to and fro. Loki could teleport across dimensions. Not easily, but if Sigyn was going to help him relax afterward, then it would be well worth the trouble.
The room around them began to change shape and color, though it was not the room that was changing, but them. Soon they were in the living room of a large beach house, with a patio that looked out on a wide, beautiful beach. Here the sun was setting, casting a beautiful orange glow all around. The entire place was deserted; there was no one around for miles. If the landlord happened to come by during their stay, he would simply use a bit of trickery and send the mortal on his merry way.
"What do you think?" he asked, gesturing at the house and the beach. The place was extremely well designed, simple but till luxurious. He was sure Sigyn would like it, and if not, they could easily find somewhere else. Now that they had teleported out of Asgard, the rest would be perfectly easy.

In all honesty, Sigyn could not imagine Loki in shorts or Midgardian attire that was too casual. And she did not want to imagine that. He was a prince after all, proud and divine. Those clothes would not do him justice. While she preferred to see him in his Asgardian attire - full armor in particular -, she liked seeing him in a suit or something similarly appropriate, when it came to Midgardian clothes. It went well with his proud composure and finely chiseled face.
But today, he'd dress for her eyes only. Sigyn was the only one around him right now and together, they'd leave. She couldn't wait. When the room started to change, she took his hand and held on to him. She knew it wasn't that necessary, but it felt better. Besides, this was - one of many - belated honeymoons. She should[/b] be holding his hand.
First thing she noticed was the scent. The air smelled differently all of a sudden, salty, sandy, natural. She could smell the ocean and it caused her to sigh in relief. The room around them found her fancy instantly. It was simple, but luxurious, just like she preferred. Sigyn did not need too much detail and knick-knack. This was just perfect and that radiant smile on her face gave her opinion away, before she had even said a word. "Absolutely wonderful," Sigyn said, loosening her grip on him for the sake of running out to the patio, where she could watch the sunset and the beach and inhale deeply. "I love Asgard's nature, but this is just so beautiful.", she said. Asgard had many rivers, forests, landscapes, but no ocean. She struggled not to go and take a swim immediately. "I can hardly wait to take a swim," Sigyn said, turning around to watch Loki. She still had that radiant smile on her face. "Do you feel alright, darling?", Sigyn asked nonetheless. After all, he had teleported them. Loki might be very worn out.

Even before she spoke, Loki realized that she was quite happy with his choice of beach. They were on a tiny island in the vast Pacific Ocean, with, as far as he had been able to tell, no neighbors, not even ships or planes passing too near, and, best of all, no tourist spots within dozens of miles. They were truly secluded. Once night properly fell, they would be able to see the stars. And whether night or day, there would be no one around to watch them do whatever they might choose to do on the beach.
He followed her out to the patio, and wrapped his arms around her. He could feel the restraint she used in not running out to the sea immediately. After placing a small kiss on her shoulder, he looked up at her. "I am a bit winded, but I will recover shortly," he assured her. "Go and swim. I'll catch up."
Gazing out at the beach, he could see why Sigyn was so taken with it. The water was beautiful, tinted a reddish orange as the sun set over it. Once the night settled in, the air would be cooler; for now it still had a bit of warmth to it, leading Loki to unbutton his shirt and set it aside on the patio. This would be their spot, he decided, one of their many little places on Midgard. Theirs, and theirs alone.

"No," she said, turning towards Loki. Sigyn watched him take his shirt off with appreciation on her face. Yes, this was distracting him. "I'll have plenty of time to go and take a swim. Would you like to lie down?" He had been so kind to teleport them, he had been so sweet to suggest this trip. Now, he was worn out and she'd pay respect to that. So Sigyn made a step towards him, put her hands on his bare skin. "Thank you, Loki. This is wonderful.", she whispered and leaned in. A kiss on a patio on a deserted island under the rising moon, while the sea calmly played its music? Yes, it was ridiculously romantic and also, quite cheesy. But she already loved every second of it. A lot of people might be surprised to see The God of Mischief like this. She wasn't. Loki could be very sweet when he chose to be. Slowly, Sigyn wound her arms around him, until their bodies touched. Sigyn had to tilt her head back now, if she wanted to watch him. "I like that I have you all for myself now," she said, kissing his chin, "No family, no staff, no public matters. No titles." Loki loved his title and position, it was important to him. Sigyn knew this might be a little tease, an offence that would not cause severe harm. But every so often, she grew weary about the buzz in the palace, about the stresses a princess naturally had. Here, they were not princes and princesses, they were merely a couple that happened to have found a nice hide-out. Far away from Asgard.
