Sierra smiled sheepishly to herself as she walked inside of the school. This place was a safe haven for many mutants. Around the city, she had heard rumors about it. All in a good light. It made her seriously consider moving here and let this be her new home. However, she still had her job as a chiropractor, and full time single mom job to consider. Not to mention, her three boys were still too young to really be tested for the gene, with them being only five and what not. Sierra had left them with a baby sitter, just for the next few days so she could try to sort through everything.
Sierra began to make her way towards the office of Charles Xavier, someone telling it was in this general direction. Today, she wore a dark brown, short sleeve top and a pair of blue jeans that hugged her figure nicely. I hope.....I can find some sort of solution here She thought nervously to herself as she came to a stop in front of, what she guessed was his office.
The blond knocked at his door. She waited patiently for an answer, every so often running her hand through her dirty blond hair, that was held back in a low ponytail.

Charles had called mutants to join him for the battles that would come. To take the side of peace, and work to co-exist alongside mainstream humanity. They would be his X-Men, and they would protect a world that hated and feared them, against all threats. It was the right thing for them to do, to prove themselves time and time again. It would sink in eventually, that mutants were something positive, accepting them would be a move toward a brighter future for all. This was his dream. Charles also had a nightmare, a terrible haunting fear. The Shadow King lurked in the darkness of human minds, and would corrupt them to evil...
He was now meeting with a mutant who may or may not join the X-Men. She had a family to worry about, and Charles respected that. As it was, he was fond of children, and would no doubt gladly act as mentor and teacher to them, as he had many before. He cared not whether they were mutants or not. Every child was important to ensure the future would be one worth living in. They would build it, he and other adults would only give them tools to design it according to their own quality. If they taught the next generation poorly, it would be a terrible thing indeed. He sighed, as the vibrant young woman approached his door. Sierra Fleming was a vivacious girl, that much was clear. Her bearing showed she had a fun side, but also that she took her responsibility seriously. Her thoughts were quite endearing, as she was concerned about where she and her family fit into the changing world. She wanted to see them through it safely. Such was Charles' love for his students, and especially his X-Men. She knocked and he touched her mind, softly.
You may enter , He told her, his thoughts caressing her mind like waves upon the sandy shore. When she followed these instructions, and was standing before him, he simply smiled, and gave her a warm salutation.
"Welcome to the Xavier Institute," the Professor said, "I am Charles Xavier, and I invited you here to see what I might to do to help you and your children. There are hard times ahead, and this place is the safest place for us."

Sierra smiled slightly as she saw him. He just kind of gave off that 'old and wise' vibe. Soemthing Sierra definitively respected. One kind of had to, when in the medical business, as Sierra was. "My name's Sierra....though I think you already know that" Sierra said with a light, almost-nervous sounding laugh before taking a seat near his desk.
The dirty blonde kept a happy smile on her face. "Yes, The Big Apple is starting to grow a bit......troublesome. My three boys are human, as well as I'm aware. No idea if they have the mutant gene or not. I want to get out of the city, simply to find a safer place to raise them" Sierra explained. In the back of her mind, she was sure he already knew this. The way he entered her mind just a few moments ago, he could probably read everything going on in that head of hers. Sierra shook her head slightly. She didn't find it intruding, she just wished there was at least a warning or two. "I think I could provide some service here though. I'm a chiropractor, so I could help the aches and pains of the others here" Sierra offered, trying to come up with some use she could be here.

"My name's Sierra....though I think you already know that"
Charles smiled and nodded. He did, or else she wouldn't be standing in front of him. He knew many things about her. Cerebro had allowed him to find her in the first place. He had given her the idea to come here, and he had learned all about her by probing her thoughts and memories. It wasn't the best etiquette, of course, but it was for the good of his students. He needed people he could trust around them, and to do that...he had to screen people carefully. He gestured with his hand toward a seat in front of him. He wanted to them to be on the same level for this conversation.
"Yes, The Big Apple is starting to grow a bit......troublesome. My three boys are human, as well as I'm aware. No idea if they have the mutant gene or not. I want to get out of the city, simply to find a safer place to raise them"
"Whether they do or not, makes no difference," Charles said warmly, " My hope is for a world where mutants and humans live together peacefully, as brothers and sisters in a common pursuit of a better tomorrow for all of us. A world where war and hatred are left far behind. Mutant or not, you and yours are welcome here with open arms."
"I think I could provide some service here though. I'm a chiropractor, so I could help the aches and pains of the others here"
"That is very thoughtful of you," Charles responded, "But it isn't a requirement of syaying here. There are no requirements, but I do have an opportunity to present, should you be interested."
Charles was not hiring her to provide medical support or anything. He was bringing her into the fold of a family he had long been building, a family of mutants who would lead the world into peace. The chosen few of those mutants became a mighty force for good in the world. They were the X-Men. sierra could be one such person, should she wish to do so.
"I am building a team of mutants," He continued, " A group known as the X-Men. Our mission is simple. We seek peace. We defend a world that hates and fears us. And at present, is largely unaware of our existence. But you and I both know, that won't last forever" Charles sighed.
"That is why it is imperative we prepare for the coming storm," He said, "Now, before it is too late. The gathering Shadows will not give us any quarter, that I can guarantee."
