"Alright," Sigyn said. As Loki had already taken care of Narvi, all Sigyn could do was helping the little one out of his clothes. "That is alright, mother, I can do this myself," Narvi told her as she approached. "But of course you can," Sigyn smiled, stepping back in order to loosen her own garments. She threw a gaze at Loki, a meaningful one, with her brows furrowed and her lips pursed. How were those boys getting so big so fast? Sigyn could remember such a small Narvi and a small Vali, too. She remembered how Vali had been a very small child, how giving birth to him had gone astoundingly smoothly, especially since he had been her first child. She also rememberd Narvi, the giant baby that had made Odin bark a laugh upon seeing him for the first time. Sigyn had been in labor for longer than a day and eventually, had given birth on all her fours, because everything else had just hurt too much. She remembered both their boy's first steps and how Vali had had a fondness for smearing his food wherever he could reach when he had been a toddler.
And now, they were riding horses and undressing by themselves. It was incredible and somehow, also sad. Sigyn knew how attached she was to her father. She just hoped her boys would stay attached to her, even once they had reached manhood. "At least I still get to undress you on occasion," she whispered towards Loki, giving him a small, cheeky smile. Those words meant a lot. Of course, they were meant to tease him, but they were also some kind of offer for truce and moreover, holding the subtle information that there was no grudge between them. Oh well.
Soon, Narvi and Vali were in their undergarments, while Sigyn and Loki were still getting rid of the many layers of their riding attires. "Boys, wait for us until you go in," Sigyn said. Better safe than sorry.
Vali pouted, he was a big boy already and could do by himself in the water just fine. Narvi however, walked around in circled with his hands on his back and his eyes on the ground, trying to find something to play with. "Vali! Look!", Narvi said. He had spotted a large, colorful blue and red beetle with huge, antler-like scissors on its head, in the grass, that was throughly dry from the heat. Vali hurried over. Both boys were crouching down. "Hello little friend!", Narvi said quietly, extending his finger towards the beetle. The animal however, did not like being touched. It lifted its head, that carried its very own weapon, and attacked the finger pointing at him. But before Narvi could even realize what was going on, his finger suddenly grew bright, glowing red. A flame erupted from its tip, which set the beetle as well as some of the grass on fire. Narvi - who had never done this before - was petrified instantly, screamed and stumbled back. "Narvi!", Vali exclaimed. But Narvi was not the only child acting upon instinct, with no clear idea what they were doing in mind. Vali's first thought was getting this fire out. But he wasn't wearing any boots! With a quick wit and absolute idiocy, he reached forward in order to pat it out with his free hand. That was when his fingers turned pale blue and went ice cold. The coldness - and the frost - moved up towards his upper arm, until they had almost reached his shoulder. No harm was done to him, but the fire was out. But Vali only stared at his arm in shock. Blue, with prominent lines, radiating cold. He screamed just like Narvi.
Sigyn's body jerked up from taking off her boots the moment she heard Narvi's scream. "Narvi!", she cried, running over instantly. She saw the fire, saw how her little one was crawling away from it, whatever had happened. But she didn't have to say a word, as her beautiful Vali was about to....put the fire out with his bare hand? "Vali! Don't!", Sigyn cried. Loki and her could do that. Easily. But it was too late. However, Sigyn arrived just in time to see what was happening now. Narvi was just falling into her arms, when Vali's arm changed. She knew this shape. She knew this patterns. She had seen them before and she had touched them before. Vali looked at her in panic, tears in his eyes.
And now, here they were. With a child that had instinctively created fire by only using his naturally given magic, with little training and another that had just turned partly Frost Giant. Sigyn kind of doubted that they were going to have that swim after all.

Looking at them, watching them, Loki could only say he was proud of his family. His sons were bright and courageous, and Sigyn - no matter what may divide them, he would always admire her. So as the boys prepared for swimming, Loki stood by and let them help themselves. He smiled at Sigyn as she teased him, feeling more like he usually did around her.
Yet flirting with her felt out of place, as some of the frustration from earlier still lingered. He had never been able to get over things easily, especially not something that bothered him as much as what they had not talked about. Perhaps he should not have dismissed their discussion so quickly.
He saw the flash of fire and instinctively ran over to the boys, and was about halfway there when Vali put the fire out. He saw Vali's arm - its color, the trademark ridges. Both boys were half Frost Giant, something both Loki and Sigyn were now aware of, but Loki had been planning to reveal that in his own time. But plans, it seemed, had moved on without him. Loki sighed and stooped down next to his sons.
"It's okay. Everything is fine." He put one hand on Vali's shoulder and the other on Narvi's. He, too, guessed that swimming was now probably ruined for them. At least, from what he could tell, neither of them had been seriously hurt. He took Vali's hand, the hand that had turned blue, and his own took on a blue tint as well.
"Vali, Narvi," he began quietly, "…do you understand what has happened?"

By the time Loki arrived at his sons and Sigyn, she was kneeling on the ground, had Narvi in her arm and the other hand on Vali's hip, who was shaking all over his body. Sigyn rubbed Narvi's back, had her gaze on Vali.
Narvi was utterly petrified, even though the little boy might not know what was scaring him the most, the beetle attacking him, the sudden and uncontrolled occurence of magic, right out of his body, or the fact that he had set the beetle on fire. Vali on the other hand could not stop staring at his arm, that still had that blue color to it. Maybe this had to happen sooner or later, at least when it came to the issue with the boys' true nature. As far as Sigyn was concerned, she wanted them to know, but she would have preferred talking to them about it once they were a little older. But the choice had been taken from Loki and her. "I do not know what happened I just wanted to nudge the little bug and then he was on fire," Narvi cried into his mother's shoulder. Vali, who watched his and his father's hand, stuttered. "Magic. It was magic.", the boy said. Even though Vali wanted to be tough and a 'man' already, it was obvious that he was just a scared 9-year-old boy right now. And he had guessed correctly. At least, when it came to Narvi.
"Narvi, look," Sigyn said warmly, "Look at father's and Vali's arms. How beautiful they look." Narvi doubted anything could make the scare go away, so he rather reluctantly turned his head on Sigyn's shoulder and watched what was going on next to him. However, the view caught his attention, gave him some distraction. He reached out to his father's hand. Sigyn did not realize how she was holding her breath. When Narvi made contact, the same happened to his little arm. It turned blue and cold as well. Narvi - his eyes still red from crying - formed a small smile on his face. "Mother, you are missing," he said through a stuffed nose. "I know. But I cannot do this, unfortunately," Sigyn said, stroking over Narvi's little head. She looked at Loki. Right now, Sigyn did not really know how to deal with this. She'd just have to go with her motherly instinct. And luckily, she was not alone in this. "But you can do magic, too!", Vali argued. He was calming down by the minute upon realising that he was not the only one. He was right, she could. But this wasn't magic. Sigyn looked at Loki, helpless.
It was one thing to have a 6-year-old, that had spontaneously set a bug on fire, showing magic that was very powerful and rare. She could deal with that, she was a sorcerer herself and had to adapt Narvi's training to the event. But how to explain about their heritage?

Had things gone the way Loki wanted, he and Sigyn would have had this talk with their sons at the right time, perhaps a few years in the future, when they were old enough to truly understand. But it was not to be. No longer could they allow their sons to go forward believing they were something they were not. They would wonder, this image would never be far from their minds. He knew, because the same had happened to him.
He saw how shaken the boys were, Narvi in tears, Vali stuttering his response. Loki nodded. "It was magic." He saw that Narvi wanted to place his hand on theirs, and waited until he did and his hand had also turned blue. "But this… this is not magic."
He looked down at their hands. "I am not Aesir, as your uncles and grandparents are. I am a Frost Giant, and you share my blood."
Reaching for Sigyn's hand with his free one, he rubbed it for a moment, his hand emitting a golden glow briefly. Then he gently placed her hand atop theirs. Her hand did not turn blue like theirs, but neither did it grow frostbitten. Her skin retained its color and, though she would feel the cold coming from all three of them, it would be faint.
"Though your mother is not what we are," he told the boys, "she is one of us. She understands. You may ask her anything." He gave Sigyn a small smile. "We will teach you how to use magic safely and properly, as you both have natural talents for it. But I… I am still learning what it means to be a Frost Giant. I have no parents to help me." His father was dead - by his own hand - and he had no idea who his mother was. Without Sigyn, he would be tackling all this alone - or, more likely, he would be ignoring it all.
He removed his hand and allowed it to return to its natural color. "You must be careful who you let know about this, my sons. You may be scorned or ridiculed. You may be feared. You know the stories of Frost Giants. Many would simply label you as a monster. But here, you are among family. There is nothing to fear." He smiled at his boys, hoping his explanation had not made matters worse. He was not able to comfort them as well as Sigyn was, or at least, he felt not.

Something very strange happened as Loki was talking to the boys: Narvi was the one who obviously calmed down and after just a short moment, stared at their united hands in wonder and obvious awe. The little boy even smiled. "But Grandfather Iwaldi is a dwarf!", he corrected Loki proudly, when he claimed their relatives to be Aesir. Of course, Narvi was missing the point, but he was only six years old.
Vali on the other hand was still in shock, as his mouth was open, his brows were furrowed and his body still shook slightly.
Sigyn met Loki's gaze when he reached for her hand. She felt the magic running through it. "This is magic, my sons," she said quietly and finally, her hand came to rest on their's. She felt the cold, she felt the tingling a frostbite would cause, yet she remained unharmed. This was something she'd never share with her sons. It was Loki's legacy. And maybe, this was a chance for her husband to come clean with his heritage by teaching his sons to be alright with it. Sigyn's eyes sparkled.
Narvi detached himself from his mother, but kept his hand where it was. He shrugged. "Alright," Narvi said, "Frost Giants can be nice, too, then. I guess.", Narvi added. It was incredible. He had gotten an information and had processed it wisely instantly. Narvi even lifted his hand to Loki's face, that turned blue on the spot that he touched. It made the small boy laugh out loudly and repeat the procedure on other parts of Loki's face, his little blue eyes sparkling. Vali did not take it so well. "No!", he yelled, tearing his hand free. Hot tears started to run down the 9-year-old's face and he took off. Sigyn met Loki's gaze in a hurry and got up, following her son.
"Vali! Wait!", she said. Sigyn caught up with him when he sat down on a tree that had fallen, face in his hands. She slowed down, carefully approached and sat down. Rubbing her son's back, she gently spoke. "I know this comes as a surprise, sweetheart. But it is nothing bad." "No!", Vali said, lifting his head. He was angry, but underneath lingered confusion and fear. "We're not Frost Giants! Frost Giants are bad! I am not bad!", Vali argued. Sigyn exhaled, exchanging a look with Loki. If he had heard this, his heart would break. But the God of Mischief had to be a parent right now and shove his own insecurities aside. And Sigyn would tell him this exactly if she had to. "Vali," she said again, turning to him, "It is not our race that determines who we are. It's our character. Our actions. Do you think Narvi to be bad? Or your father?" "No, I-," Vali said, shutting his mouth upon realizing that Sigyn had pointed out a flaw in his logic. "Everything will be just alright, Vali. Look at me, I'm part dwarf, part Vanir. And? Does that make me any less,-" "But Frost Giants are,-" "The Jotun have a past with Asgard, Vali. And that is about it. Their past does not determine your future. Or your brother's or your father's. You have the chance to change something. That is incredible. You may be of mixed blood, but that is special. And you're still of Asgard." Vali shut up for now. He was still conflicted. It seemed that he understood her words, but if Sigyn was true, there was no reason to be angry anymore. Yet he still felt anger. So he said nothing at all, but fell around his mother's middle, who put her hand on his head.
Meanwhile, Narvi was still with Loki.

There were no words to express how proud Loki was of Narvi. The little boy absorbed all he was told and responded well, with little hesitation before he decided that he was okay with the news. Loki was proud of Sigyn as well, who had trusted him enough to place her hand on their frozen ones. Rarely had Loki felt so much joy as he did when Narvi put his little hands on Loki's face, turning his skin blue in little splotches. Loki tapped his finger against Narvi's face, doing the same to Narvi's skin. It was a bonding moment unlike any other.
Vali… perhaps he was too old to see things as simply as Narvi had. Perhaps years of being told stories about Frost Giants being big and dumb and violent had colored his perception too much. Whatever the reason, he ran off, and Loki would have followed him if Sigyn had not gotten up first. Besides, Narvi still needed attention. Loki watched Vali and Sigyn for a moment before turning back to Narvi. He did not hear what was said, but he knew well enough what Vali's issue was. It was the same he had faced himself when he'd learned of his parentage.
"Your brother remembers the stories," he said quietly to Narvi. "He is afraid of what it means for him. He has not learned that it means nothing. I am the same father you have known all your lives, and you are the same boy you were five minutes ago. Vali is afraid this news makes him a monster." He squeezed Narvi's hand lightly. "There is good and bad in every race. It is up to you and Vali to decide which it is you wish to be."
With a smile, he stood up, then picked up Narvi, despite him being a big boy now, and put Narvi on his shoulders. Together they walked over to where Vali and Sigyn sat, with Vali's head under Sigyn's hand. Loki put a hand on Sigyn's shoulder, his hand having warmed back to normal temperature. Perhaps we should go home, he projected into Sigyn's mind.

Perhaps, it was exactly this. Narvi was young enough to deal lightly with the news. Vali had more of a mind on his own, being the older one. He didn't take to it too well. Now, it was at Loki and Sigyn to be parents to the boy, despite their own issues and worries. This situation was a landmark in Vali's life. Now, a path would be set. It'd either be a good or a bad one.
Narvi was okay with everything, it seemed. He giggled when Loki poked his face, smiled up at his father, while his tears were drying. "Those are just stories. I don't think Vali is a monster. He's my brother!", Narvi said. He giggled again when Loki picked him up just like that. He was still not old enough to actually honestly complain. He didn't mind, this way, he was insanely tall. Narvi like that. "I am sorry I burned the little bug, father. I did not mean to anger it and now it is dead.", Narvi said. Above everything else, having burned the bug to ash seemed to be the thing he worried about most, much less than worrying about being a frost giant. "Can I be entirely blue or just on my hands?", he asked Loki, who was walking up to Sigyn and Vali. Sigyn looked up at her husband, gave him a nod. "Vali, sweetheart, come," she said, taking her hand off Vali's head. Vali held on to her tightly, did not want to let go. "Father let me down", Narvi requested. And when Loki had put him on the ground, Narvi gently nudged Vali's shoulder. "Vali, you're not a monster. You're my brother and I love you. Now let us go home and have some cake," he said. To Narvi, it was as simple as that. Vali looked up, wiped his face, so that his little brother did not have to see him that devastated. He nodded and stood. Narvi took Vali's hand. "Come on let us get our clothes." The two brothers left for the spot that still held their clothes. Sigyn had to get dressed again, too. But for now, she stood and took Loki's hand. "Are you alright?", she asked.

Narvi's concern for the bug was sweet, and it made Loki smile for a moment. Unfortunately, the bug was ashes now, and resurrecting it would have taken dark magic, and more of that than Loki was willing to spare for a beetle. So he let it be, and hoped that it would not bother Narvi much longer. It already seemed the little boy's thoughts were moving on.
"You can be entirely blue," Loki told Narvi as he walked. "Soon I will teach you how." But at the moment, his concern was for Vali, who did not seem to have taken the news well at all. Narvi seemed to sense the same. Loki put him down when he asked, and then watched in awe as Narvi comforted his big brother. The two went off to get their clothes, leaving husband and wife alone to talk.
Loki squeezed Sigyn's hand. "Narvi took it well," he told her, indirectly answering her question. "With any luck, he will inspire Vali to do the same." Though he had not been part of the conversation, he knew from the way Vali had run off that learning of his true lineage had upset the older boy. He had not forgotten about their other problems, but this sudden revelation of theirs had given him a break from trying to process them.
"Do you need help getting dressed?" he asked, a little flirtatiously. He had barely had a chance to undress for swimming himself, so he was all ready; she had gotten a little farther than he had and, if it would bring them a little closer, he would gladly help her back into her riding clothes.

"He did," Sigyn said, a statement containing relief and pride. "Vali needs some time.", Sigyn said. Her mind was buzzing just as much, so she had not made a set plan about how to deal with this situation. And possibly, Loki and her needed to talk about this to begin with. They were raising their children together, so they needed to figure things like this out together.
Sigyn turned to Loki, smiled exhaustedly. She was about to say no, when she read between the lines. Loki knew she could dress herself. That had not been the point of his question. "Actually, yes.", Sigyn said, grinning. And so, she, Sigyn, Princess of Asgard, over fourthousand years old, got help getting dressed by her husband.
Narvi had been a huge help with Vali today. The older boy had not said much, had avoided to look at his parents. It seemed like he ws looking for comfort in the company of his brother. While Sigyn hated to be ignored by hers on, she loved how the brothers worked together. In union, in brotherly love. Both boy had been terribly exhausted and eventually, they went to bed early. That left Sigyn and Loki by themselves.
Sigyn groaned as she took the wineglass from the low couch table and leaned back. She wished it weren't summer, so she could light the fire and enjoy the gloomy light. Now, the doors to the balcony were open in order to cool the place down. Loki was not in the salon yet, but she figured he'd be with her soon. This was yet another night that needed talking. She was tired of it. Sigyn craved one night without worries and conversations about problems and solutions. But life got in the way of your desires, did it not?

After the events that transpired at the lake, a quiet evening would be well-deserved. The boys were asleep and the castle had fallen silent. Making his way through the corridors, Loki noted how serene the castle was at this time. He liked it this way sometimes. It felt fairly appropriate for the trials that lay ahead of him tonight.
He and Sigyn had much to discuss. They would have to decide how to handle this new revelation their boys had stumbled upon, how best to teach them what they needed to know about both the powers they had been born with and those that would come to them through magic. Loki partly hoped his sons would grow up to be even greater sorcerers than he, rivaling Odin in strength and skill. That would be most fitting.
There were also the unresolved issues of the baby they had tried to make - and succeeded at, unbeknownst to them - and the sentencing. Loki had no idea how to broach either topic; he was not even certain that he wanted to talk about them. But it had to be done. So much had to be said.
He was dressed in a thin tunic and trousers, the weather being too hot for anything more. Walking into their salon, he found Sigyn waiting, reclining on a couch with a glass of wine. She looked a proper goddess there, and a proper princess. His eyes were on her as he walked over to her, enjoying the simple sight of her.
Taking a seat next to her, Loki was quiet at first, unsure how to start. It had been an eventful day, or an eventful couple of days. "Our boys are growing up," he said finally, though it wasn't what he wanted to say. It was the baby that was foremost on his mind. With Vali and Narvi old enough to begin looking after themselves, what better time was there to have another?

Even though she had expected Loki to arrive sooner or later, Sigyn had faded to being lost in thought, absent-mindedly sipping on her wine, as she was staring into the empty fireplace. She couldn't possibly wait for fall and winter and cold temperatures. Somehow, she had always been fond of the cold, preferred it over summer any time. How ironic Loki's true parentage seemed considering this.
When Loki entered, he broke her free from her little trance. She turned and smiled at him. He strode so beautifully, his tall body looking perfect in the dim light. Above every quarrel, he held her heart and everything about her, so much was for sure. So when he sat down next to her, she cuddled against his side, lifted his arm so she'd create the proper cushion that he was. She knew both of them were thinking about all those matters occupying their thoughts, but she just wanted to linger on this calmness a little longer.
"They are. It breaks my heart and makes me proud at the same time," she said. Inevitable, Narvi and Vali would grow into men. Sigyn only hoped they'd still share a clos ebond. However, they were not just there yet. As far as she was concerned, a day like today showed that they were not ready to take care of themselves...or rather, were still utterly dependent on Loki and Sigyn. For what it was worth, both boys still needed their parents a lot. Especially now. Narvi had obviously a magical talent that was unlikely for his age. Vali needed magical tutoring, as well. Moreover, they had just learned about Loki's and thus their true parentage. They needed Loki and Sigyn to be there for them, now. To focus. Their parents focussing on another little one was not what they neeeded. There were still countless other things they had to get in order. Sigyn did not want the boys to grow into haughty, socially inept and arrogant men. They had to go to school, be taught arts and science. At best, in a social environment, even if that meant having them be taught in classes with other children. Actually, that was the best possible outcome. It was one thing to violate basic social rules to prove a point. But you had to understand those rules first. That didn't happen if you thought yourself better than everyone else. If Narvi and Vali turned out as wicked as their father, it was fair enough to Sigyn. She just wanted them to decide about that, not just grow into it.
"You need to talk to Vali, my love. Spend a day with him. Hunting or practicing magic. Narvi took it well, but I think we may be at a point where it is important for Vali to know that even his parents struggle sometimes. So he can relate to you." Sigyn turned, so she could see a little bit of Loki's face. "Does that make sense?" Of course, this was not about giving Vali the idea that his parents were scared. He still needed to know that they'd protect him. But if Loki could share his own issues with his son, Vali might realize that he was not alone in this. That he didn't have to figure this out by himself.

For now, they were just a husband and wife talking, nothing more. They had not branched out into the subjects of contention, and to Loki, Sigyn seemed just as reluctant to take on those subjects as he was. He let her settle against him and took her hand as she spoke of how she felt regarding their boys. Soon Narvi and Vali would be on their own, marrying and having children of their own and making their places in life. And he and Sigyn would always be there to support them, no matter their choices.
Narvi seemed to take after his mother, Loki thought, with regard to his outlook on things and how he approached difficulties. Vali was more like Loki. The similarity was too hazy for him to say whether that made him happy or not. There were certain aspects of his personality that even he knew were not the best, that made his own life more difficult. If he saw Vali developing the same way, he would promptly train the boy out of those habits.
However, if Vali, or Narvi, took up some of the more "wicked" aspects of Loki's personality, that was not necessarily a terrible thing in Loki's eyes. "Wicked" was subjective, after all. There was very little his sons could do that would not in some way make Loki proud. Whether they grew up to be the most benevolent or most destructive of gods, he could not imagine not being proud of them.
He was not surprised to hear that Vali might need a talking-to. "Yes. I will talk to him," Loki promised. The next day, perhaps, they would find something to do, hunting or magic as Sigyn had suggested, or whatever Vali might be in the mood for. If he wanted to talk to his father at all. It was Loki's fault, to put it simply, that Vali had Frost Giant blood. Loki expected he would have to be very persuasive to get Vali to talk to him again.
"We should talk about last night," he said carefully, knowing that this was still a delicate topic between them. This was only the beginning of what could be a long night. They would disagree again, they would try to convince the other, but all these years together had proven to Loki that they were equally stubborn, equally certain of their convictions.
But if they were both willing to give the other a chance, then, with any luck, they would finally get somewhere.

Good. Sigyn suspected Loki was the only person that would be able to make Vali feel good about himself. She'd support her boys, of course, do everything she could do to make them feel better. But Vali needed someone to relate and look up to. Who better than his father, who had not been aware of his true nature for long, either? More importantly, this would be a lesson for Loki, as well. Both of them could only benefit from this day spent together. Sigyn was positive it'd turn out well. "He's going to be alright. And so are you," she said, snuggling into his side. But just when Sigyn was about to raise her glass to her lips once more, Loki asked her to talk about last night. It was nice having him adress the topic, for he usually was very adept in shutting things out and ingoring issues. But this time, it was Sigyn who was too tired of all these quarrels to actually pick the topic up again. Moreover, hadn't they said what needed to be said? Loki wanted another child right now, Sigyn didn't. There was no compromise.
She sighed, put her glass on the table. Sigyn sat up and looked at Loki for just a second. Then, she leaned in, held his face with one hand and began to distribute little lingering kisses along the side of his face, his jawline and finally, his neck. "Do we?", she whispered, slowly straddling him.
Maybe, she was using sex as a tool after all.

With Sigyn snuggling into his side, things felt much more like they should be, as though there had been no fight, no sentencing, and no misguided decisions. She did not seem happy about the change of subject. However, she was far from being cross about it. A dark smile curled his lips as she kissed him and settled into his lap. Did they really need to discuss this now?
"Yes… maybe…." He shifted her slightly so he could get his arms around her. He knew what she was doing, of course. He had used the same tactic too many times not to notice. Torn between letting her continue and stopping her to have their talk, he eventually took hold of her chin and held her face so they were looking directly at each other.
It was important to note that the only motivation Loki had for pushing this subject was the baby. She had teased him just a little too well with her talk of making one, and her actions following that. Before, instead of talking about it, he had let the subject alone, knowing there was no convincing her. Then, last night, he had come incredibly close. He had tasted success. A shame he did not yet know just how successful they had actually been.
The problem may have been that Loki refused to accept that there had been anything wrong with the way they had made their decision. It was in his nature to put aside matters that were too difficult to deal with. Why should that not work with setting aside their frustration with the sentencing?
"Did I not know better, I would believe you are trying to distract me, Princess." He traced a finger along her jawline. "We will discuss this, sooner or later. It is your choice. But I suggest you make it sooner." He had considered removing the spell himself, ordering her to do as he pleased. But that went against everything their relationship embodied; it was a return to some other Loki, not the one Sigyn had molded. Still, he was sorely tempted.
All this talk of a daughter had truly made him want one.

Sigyn dropped her head into the curve of his neck, sighed and stopped kissing or petting him, whatsoever. She knew he knew what she was up to, yet Sigyn had hoped he'd just let it go. Loki didn't. How was this fair? He was constantly pushing his emotions aside, even hiding important things from her, yet when she didn't want to talk about something, he pushed her.
She felt an unfamiliar knot of anger tightening in her chest, so she stayed in place until she had gathered her senses, swallowed her wrath. For now. "Loki," Sigyn said, climbing off his lap. She sounded harsh. Sigyn's temper had become calmer over the years, she'd still be hot headed these days, but it'd usually take people longer to honestly irritate her. Today it seemed, her patience was short. She gave herself a refill, retreated into the other corner of the couch. "A week ago, you told me you hurt yourself occasionally. Yesterday, Freia got sentenced. We are both on house arrest, Narvi and Vali just found out about their Jotun genes and they are still not back in school. There is a long list of things we have to figure out. Having another baby does not make it to the top of it." Sigyn's words sounded final. She was not willing to discuss this. Moreover, this was her body. If Loki forced or tricked her to get pregnant, he'd be in trouble. Sigyn's fury would be the worst thing the damn God of Mischief had ever seen.
