Sigyn did not stop to put countless kisses on whichever part of his skin she'd reach. "Have I told you you look absolutely flawlessly dashing, my love? So dashing that I can hardly contain myself. I'd rather be wed to you yesterday, for I could spend the night with you then.", she hurried to speak in the same fashion as before. However, Loki's declaration of love and question somehow brought her back to the present. She remained quite close, though, keeping her arms around him. Sigyn felt so relieved that their fates were sealed for now. Moving in, being with him was only a matter of time. A matter of time until she could leave. "Oh, of course, wait a moment," she said, taking a step back in order to summon her beloved maiden. BEfore she took off for good however, she returned to lean in for yet another kiss and a wide smile. "Greta!", Sigyn exlaimed into the hallway. Greta appeared from the direction of the dining room. "Yes, dove?", she asked. Sigyn beckoned her to enter the room, where Greta smiled at Loki and inclined her head. "My lord," she greeted him. Sigyn - still smiling - had her arm around her maid. "Loki wishes to speak to you, but I have no idea what this is about," Sigyn admitted, shrugging her shoulders. Loki probably wanted to get to know Greta properly. Sigyn was fairly sure no one had properly introduced the two. For Greta was but a servant in her mother's eyes. "Oh, my apologies," she said upon realising this. Sigyn reached out to pull Loki closer. "I believe you have met, but I want to introduce her as she deserves it. My love, this is Greta, the woman who raised me, that I owe all of my honorable traits to. Apart from the ones my father taught me.", Sigyn said. Greta was blushing, obviously a bit uncomfortable in this situation. "I beg you pardon my lord, but my lady is obviously being quite flattering. All her good traits she owes to her beautiful self.", Greta said, even throwing Sigyn a look that was some kind of silent lecture. "Since when are you calling me your lady?", Sigyn chuckled. Greta and her had long left the restrictions of a strictly formal relationship. Possibly, the woman could tell Sigyn off as much as she wanted, without fearing Sigyn to go all superior on her.

With all the kisses Sigyn gave him, Loki murmured softly, always glad to feel the touch of her lips against his skin. "And you look absolutely stunning," he told her. As for spending the night together, he had previously assumed that they would; if sleeping together required them to be wed, he thought, then let it be done now, so he could be as near to his love as physics allowed.
He asked for Greta, and soon the woman appeared, looking fairly confused and humbled. He reached for Greta's hand and placed it between both of his own. "Sigyn has told me much about you," he explained. "As you have played such an important role in my love's life, I wanted to be certain we had your approval. I have asked for her hand in marriage, and her father has given me his blessing. I would have yours as well, if you choose to give it."
He knew Sigyn wanted Greta to be in service at the palace once Sigyn was all moved in; he had already given his approval on that. But it would be no use if Greta did not agree with this marriage. Yet he could already see for himself how different she was from Freia; more open, not hidden behind layers of façades. She would be honest, he was certain.

Possibly, at this point, Sigyn would not care at all about standards and morals, she would willingly go home with him. Because where he was, there was home. Wasn't it just a formality? Getting married, so that no one would frown upon them? They would soon enough, so what was the big deal about sharing a bed, sharing chambers just now? If push came to shove, Sigyn would take him up on his offer and just move into a guest room. Anything that'd bring her closer to him was good for Sigyn. Anything to get away from her mother anyway.
Sigyn was kind if impatient about Loki's words, she had no idea what he wanted from Greta. But upon hearing his words, seeing how he touched her, Sigyn's heart skipped a beat. There was no formal reason that he'd ask her maiden for her blessings. Loki realized how important Greta was to Sigyn, much more than her own mother. This was the sweetest thing she had ever witnessed! And Greta, who usually kept her cool, gasped. Her mouth fell open and she blinked a couple of times, almost being incapable of realizing what was just happening. The maiden breathed, nodded slowly. "I see how happy you make this beautiful girl," she said, "....most of the times. How could I not give you my blessings, my lord? I'll happily give her into your care.", Greta said. She sounded quite polite, yet she dared to call him out on his previous behaviour, hurting Sigyn. Said Sigyn held her breath, watching the scene in awe.

The shock that befell both women was fairly obvious, and unexpected. To Loki, it was all completely natural. Why should he worry about convention? He was Loki; he did what he wanted. In this moment, what he wanted was to recognize Greta's contributions to the life of the woman he loved. Servant or lady, it did not matter. He did have enough awareness of society not to address her so in front of Freia, but that was the only concession he cared to give.
He did not miss the meaning behind Greta's comment "most of the times." She knew, then. He supposed he should have expected it. Greta was Sigyn's closest friend and confidante. He bowed his head slightly, humbled and somewhat embarrassed. "I swear I will bring her nothing but happiness from now on," he answered, his eyes on Sigyn. It was a tall promise, but one he thought he could keep. Or could he? Was it in him to bring joy to others? They would have to see. Hopefully Sigyn would be willing to stand by him as they worked things out.
"Your blessings mean everything to me," he said sincerely. "Now Sigyn and I may go forth with our marriage, knowing we have the support of the one she loves so dearly." He gave Greta a genuine smile. "She mentioned to me that perhaps you and your family may be interested in joining us, in service at the palace. If you choose to come with us, we will be honored and very happy to have you around."
Whether Sigyn had gotten a chance to mention this idea to Greta, he did not know, and he hoped he had not robbed her of the chance. But he wanted to get everything sorted out before long, being the planner that he was. Arrangements would have to be made to move Greta and her family as well as Sigyn, if Greta accepted the offer, and if Iwaldi and Freia allowed the servants to go. Perhaps an exchange could be made, if the couple would be put out by losing Greta's services.

Of course, Greta would not deal as casually and intimately with Loki as she did with Sigyn. Perchance, the prince was in favor of her, because Sigyn had told her about their close relationship. That did not entitle her to be disrespectful. Moreover, Greta was not a disrespectful person to begin with. Sigyn herself wondered how the maiden always managed to keep her cool, even around Sigyn's poor excuse of a mother.
Sigyn was a second short of tearing up. Where was this coming from? Everything seemed to make sense right now. Before, she had been rather lost, had not had a real way, a path to look forward to. But now, now she saw it all so clearly. She'd be his wife, in an environment where she could blossom and be herself, without being taught how to behave and what to do. Of course, she did not realize yet that being a princess of Asgard brought responsiblities and expectations. She only knew that Loki would allow her to be herself, at least around him. And that was something to look forward to.
Greta and Sigyn exchanged gazes, gazes a daughter and mother would exchange. Greta inclined her head, spoke meaningfully. "Well then, my lord. I am but a servant. I cannot disregard the orders of a Prince, can I?", she said. Greta meant it, but not in the literal meaning of the words. If Loki ordered for Greta and her husband to come to court, then even Freia could do nothing about this. Possibly, Sigyn's mother might want to keep Greta merely for the sake of irritating Sigyn. Of course, if this were a regular, loving family, they would discuss taking Greta. But why put up a fight with Freia, if Loki could just order this? "I am sure my father would agree," Sigyn said, leaning into Greta, who put her arm around her foster-daughter. Togethere, they looked at Loki, wickedness in their eyes. They were quite some partners in crime, were they not?

Indeed, Loki could simply order Greta to join them at the palace. It would certainly take less effort than trying to convince Freia. As long as Greta did come willingly, Loki was fine with pulling rank for appearances. He was used to being a prince; the only exception to his usual ways was Sigyn, and even she had occasionally seen the prince in him.
Sigyn added that Iwaldi would approve of Greta joining them, mischief in her eyes and Greta's. Loki grinned back at them. That was what he liked to see. "Excellent," he said, sharing a conspirator's smile with the women. The idea of playing a little trick, as it were, on Freia seemed to appeal to all of them.
"The others are waiting for us, I fear. Shall we proceed to the dining room?" Stepping forward, he offered Sigyn his arm. They would have to go back to the traditional roles now, but at least, once they were all set up at the palace, Sigyn and Greta would be mostly free to act as they wished. Loki rather liked the dynamic between them. They had done well to choose each other, rather than Sigyn being close to her real mother. In that case, he was sure, he would not have found this rare opportunity for love in her.

So it was all set then, Loki'd order Greta and her husband to be given to Sigyn or possibly, the Palace of Asgard. Freia cared about Greta with regards to her experience in this house. Personally. Freia could not care less. Or so Sigyn thought. Whatever Freia's opinion was, Sigyn's emotions about the maiden were stronger and as such, more important. She felt entirely at ease now, knowing the maiden would join her.
"Thank you, my lord," Greta said, inclining her head once more, "I shall return to work." One last time, she squeezed Sigyn's arm and departed to the dining room and kitchen, resuming preparing the meal for the family and the guest.
Sigyn stepped towards Loki, took his hands and put a very chaste kiss on his lips. "I am very happy, my prince," she said. She felt like Loki needed to know, be told, every now and then. That smile still on her face, she took his arm and guided him to the dining room. Freia and Iwaldi rose upon seeing their guest enter. "Please, have a seat," the dwarf said.
They maintained a decent conversation, Iwaldi asking some questions about Loki himself, without becoming too personal. One thing was for sure, though, the dwarf wanted to get to know the man who would marry his daughter. Freia on the other hand, kept her part of the conversation formal and quite polite. To her, it was all about making a good impression, so it seemed.
The more it took Freia a lot of composure not to lose it, once Sigyn and Loki informed them that Sigyn would move out immediately, assuring that she'd have her own quarters. After all, Sigyn needed to be introduced to court, to being a princess of court. Freia was not happy about Greta's upcoming departure either, but when she was assured that she'd be supplied with a proper substitute, she kept her mouth shut.
Sigyn knew, if not for Loki's presence, Freia would have flipped, put up a fight and who knew what would have happened. Greta was already packing the most necessary items for Sigyn, they'd gather the rest during the next couple of days. Sigyn still politely asked Loki to give her a hand and took him to her room after dinner.
When she closed the door, she leaned against it, threw her head back and exhaled. She looked differently, less stiff, more like herself. "By Odin, one more minute with that stick up my arse and I would have died.", she complained.

Once they were in the dining room, Loki took a seat and, relying on his training as a royal, readily took to the conversation, answering all of Iwaldi's questions fully and, moreover, honestly. This was no place for lies, not in front of someone he was trying to impress. He did not want to be known as the trickster god to Iwaldi. For which father would allow his daughter to marry such a being?
The topics of Sigyn leaving right away and taking Greta with her were broached, and met with general agreement. Loki could tell Freia was not actually happy with the arrangement, but she was powerless to do anything about it without coming off as a huge arse. Besides, Sigyn would indeed have her own quarters, being a princess… it was up to her whether she would use them.
After dinner, Loki excused himself from the company of his soon-to-be in-laws and escorted Sigyn to her room. Upon entering, he glanced around, eager to see how she lived. But he turned to her as she loosened up, and gave her a grin.
"I thought it was all rather diverting," he joked, though it was true that he had enjoyed himself. The conversation had been entertaining, and had given him a chance to talk about himself a bit. Depending on the subject, he that could be a good or bad thing, but since the questions had not been too personal, he did not mind it.
"What's next?" he asked, wrapping an arm around her and smiling at her. He wanted to take her back home - to the palace - but if she preferred to spend the night in her room for any reason, he would have to accept that.

"My father is," Sigyn said, "He's the loveliest man I've ever known. Freia....well, you saw it yourself. I'd love to hear her inner conversations, about how she's torn between admiring the fact that her daughter is going to be a princess, so that her standing might shine, when in fact she does not approve at all. She's making herself so miserable,", Sigyn sighed. She leaned against him, hands on his chest. A smile was drawn on her face. So, she was in charge? Excellent. "Well, I'll be a good girl and bid you good night and we will see each other at our wedding," Sigyn explained. She did not manage to maintain a straight face for long. So she smiled, leaned in and kissed his lips. "Nonsense. I already have the most necessary items packed. I'll call for a carriage and you'll get a delivery consisting of a woman and suitcases in about an hour. I hope you plan to unpack tonight."
Oh, what was going on? Sigyn, the seductress! That was surely something new, but then again, Sigyn felt like a new person to begin with. However, she chastly kissed his cheek after that, almost sweetly, barely touching his skin. "Please don't leave until I depart. You're the only thing that keeps my mother from going after me tonight." Sigyn locked their gazes. She knew, the moment the door fell shut behind Loki, Freia would drop her facade and go after Sigyn, fight with her and take that happy mood she was in and stomp it to the ground.

As Sigyn spoke of her parents, Loki nodded, agreeing entirely. Something about Freia - perhaps the way she lied and concealed her true thoughts so easily - did not sit well with Loki. He knew better than to trust a person like that. He was one himself. And what was he, if he was not constantly scheming?
He gave it little thought, however. Sigyn was more important, and she was standing right before him, her hands on his chest. He chuckled as she teased and kissed him. She could not be so cruel as to make him wait for their wedding after the night they had spent this past evening.
"Hmm," he mused playfully, pleased by her suggestive words. "I will have to inspect this delivery closely, it seems. My curiosity is piqued." He slipped his hand along the small of her back for a moment, grinning, but then becoming a bit more serious.
"However, I fear I must apologize," he said, his voice low and his words earnest. "It seems there are already rumors about us. I did not intend to insult your honor." Yet if he could take it back… he would not. He would simply have been more careful.

Sigyn sighed, resting her hands on his upper arms. She wanted the fabric between their skins gone. It was not about sex, after all, she had just started to engage in a lovelife. It was about being close to him. Being away from Loki felt wrong. Like something was missing. So her honor was at stake? What was left of it anyway and how big could the damage be? "So what? Soon, our engagement will be announced. Is it that strange for a woman to move into palace close to being wed to a prince? After all, I need to know my way around. The rest, the sneaking around, is up to us, is it not. You're a sorcerer, who if not you could disguise me on a nightly trip!", Sigyn discussed. She turned a bit stubborn, when in fact, something else was driving her, too.
She dropped her head, her forehead meeting his shoulder. "Please don't leave me behind. You've seen her. You should see her when she loses it. She hit me today. She's going to take all of this happiness, crush it and wipe the floor with it. I just want to enjoy this, you...I don't want to stay here.", Sigyn said.
What better defense for her honor could there be, but announcing their engagement. She'd be his wife. They'd be amazing together and everyone in the Nine Realms would know. Sigyn could not possibly feel more honored. In this moment, she made the resolution to be the best possible princess there could be. And everyone could just get their acts together.

If it were up to Loki, he would never hide Sigyn. All the realm would know how much he loved her, from the daily outdoor practices they'd had, to the nightly trysts they would soon share. He did not care that there would be talk. He did care, however, that Sigyn's honor as a lady would be brought into question, because of how bland the society around them was. Why should anyone but them care whether they shared a bed? Yet there were those who cared, and those who judged. Those who hurt, even so close to home.
"I will not leave you," he promised, because it was important to her. He had no intention of leaving until she was ready. Yet the way she described Freia was cause for concern. Loki had indeed seen the way Freia held her composure, and thought he could guess what she might be like without it, but would the woman truly have the nerve to rob her daughter of her happiness? Even Loki did not want to think so poorly of her.
"You may stay with me as long as you wish. We will say you are training to become a princess," he joked, giving her a half-smile. He wrapped his arms around her and rocked her a little. It was not far from the truth, of course. Sigyn still had much to learn about royal life - and he hoped she would find it welcoming, or at least manageable enough not to make her regret marrying him.

"I have to train," Sigyn said playfully, squeeing as he was squeezing and rocking her, "I have no idea about it just yet. And if you ask my mother, I'm not even a proper lady. I will fail you, just wait and see!" Sigyn was chuckling, she was not being serious. There might be some things to being a princess that she indeed did not know about yet. Protocol the royals followed, whatever. But she was willing to learn about it. She'd go with her instincts on this one, so much was for sure and if she needed more information, she'd ask Loki. It wasn't like he was particularly fond of his position - at least when it came to expectations - himself. Together, they'd be awesome.
Sigyn wrapped her arms around his middle, kissed his neck. "I might not be a proper lady, but I am your not-proper-lady," she sighed. Her mother could literally kiss her ass. If Freia had objections, well, they did not matter anymore, for Sigyn would be his wife. She'd still be her mother's daughter, but she'd be free from her. The only fights she'd have to fight were those with Loki. She was pretty sure that would turn out well. "So then, my lord, how about giving me my first lesson?", Sigyn asked, parting their embrace. There was a bag on her bed that she nodded at. She was not going to carry it herself.

Whether Loki wanted Sigyn to become a "proper lady" was actually debatable. Proper ladies had lost their appeal to Loki long ago. It was her independent charm and her stubbornness, among other things, that attracted Loki to Sigyn. Turning her into an ordinary princess was not what he had in mind for her at all.
He would much rather she remain as she was, but with an understanding of what to expect from court and how she would be viewed. The treachery, the façades - it was all quite unnecessary at times, but that was how the world of royalty worked.
"You will not fail me," he said sincerely, though he knew she was joking. He kissed her nose lightly and picked up the bag on her bed as she hinted at it. "Your first lesson? A princess must always maintain her composure, even when she is displeased…." He let his free hand drift along her side, coming to rest on her bottom, which he squeezed playfully. "Or when a gentleman is too forward with her." He leaned in to kiss her cheek, letting his lips linger as long as she would let them.
"Shall we go?" he asked, murmuring against her skin, "or are there other bags to be packed as well?" He could carry more luggage than just one bag, of course. Especially if it meant getting home sooner.
