It was over for Loki by this point. He heard her questioning him, continuing to play along, doing her best to stall him still. Her luck with that had run out, unfortunately. He felt his self-control slipping away. In other situations, losing control would not be something he enjoyed, but in this moment, it was freeing, rapturous. She had the strange power to undo him so completely and make him want her all the more for it. He would have found it remarkable, were he not also losing the capacity to think about anything but having her.
Had he really tried, he could have come up with a clever answer to her question. It was not that he was ignoring her; quite the opposite. She had his full attention. He had no intention of walking away, even if it meant he would be the loser of this game. Or perhaps it was that he had lost this round, but the next was still open to decision. And in fairness, his concern over winning was fading quickly as well.
He lifted her slightly so that she was propped up on the drawers, then moved closer to her, closing any distance that remained between them. There would be no question as to where he was planning to take this, not with the way his eyes burned as he gazed into hers, finally giving away all he had kept inside for the sake of playing the prince. [fade to black; to be continued shortly]
