You may not have fixed me completely.
That was exactly the problem, for Sigyn believed that was exactly what she should have achieved. Fix him. Entirely. Make him okay. Yet, a part of him was still broken. Maybe, she did not cut herself enough slack. He had especially only recently learned about his true parentage, how could he be over this already? He wasn't. Sigyn needed to make sure that she loved him regardless, that she didn't love him less. Even though they might be fighting about something.
When he took her hands, she withdrew. Instead, she fell around his neck. A second later, she crawled into his lap, making the embrace even more intense. With her face in the curve of his neck, Sigyn held on to Loki for dear life. It was not a sexual situation, but very much needed on a whole other scale. "Thank you for making sure I would not talk myself into prison out there," Sigyn whispered. That was entirely Loki's achievement. Sigyn would have continued. He had stepped in when he had to. This had been the first time Sigyn had been that reckless around Odin. If not for her husband, she would have spent the night elsewhere. That would have required quite some creativity from Loki, explaining the absence of their mother to his sons.
Said sons needed a lot of things in the future, things Sigyn would have to take care of, along with Loki. Their education had to be sorted out and she did want her children to be around other children, not just each other in this palace away from the city all of the time, but that plan would now face a lot of complications. After all, Odin and Frigga were in the city and they had just agreed on refusing the King and Queen to see their children.
Sigyn exhaled another deep breath against his skin. Her body thudded from the exhaution of today. She needed to relax, to make everything go away for a couple of hours. "Loki", she whispered, slightly leaning back in order to kiss his jaw, "Do it now, my love. Do it now." Another row of kisses found their way along his jaw, towards the corner of his mouth, while she cupped his jaw to hold him in place. What was she talking about?

The unexpected embrace was a welcome one, and Loki folded his arms around Sigyn as she moved into his lap. He gave her a gentle smile as she thanked him. He had interceded for himself as much as for her; what would he have done without Sigyn for a night, or for longer? By now the fact that he needed her was a well-known, well-acknowledged one. He dared not imagine himself without her, having had her for so long, having been so profoundly changed by her.
They would be fine, he knew now. Whatever happened, whatever they chose to do, they would persevere. Their sons would respect them for that. They would not just understand, but even praise their mother and father for their choices, no matter what those happened to be. For they would survive it all. That was what they - the Laufeysons and Lokisons - did.
Her kisses he returned as best he could, slipping in a kiss here and there when she paused in her own efforts. It did not matter what she was asking him to do; in this moment, he would have done it. He would have taken her into his arms and made the sweetest love to her, if it was that which she desired. He would have marched past every guard and sentry and killed Freia with his bare hands, if that was what she asked of him. "Yes," he murmured, pulling her closer, one of his hands slipping under her dress to make contact with her skin, not just her clothing. That hand moved along her abdomen and around to her back, and he pushed her very gently so that she was lying on the bed, with him hovering over her, his free hand drawing little designs on her face.
Leaning in, he kissed her lips, deeply and thoroughly. After breaking away, he smiled, but the rest of his expression was serious. "Tell me what you need," he said, his voice already growing husky. In this moment, he was hers to command.

Sigyn wrapped her legs around his middle the instant he flipped her around, holding him tightly. Their rather mellow, dark mood did not stand in the way of desire, it was just a different kind of sex. Comforting, this time. But that was not exactly what Sigyn was about today. After all, she was not herself today to begin with and it was there for everyone to behold. Who could blame her, for today, the murderer of her children had been sentenced mildly. At least, every mother of Asgard would understand why Sigyn felt so confused.
Pulling her own dress up rather clumsily in an effort to get undressed quickly, Sigyn panted against his lips already. "A baby," she breathed, "Let's make a baby." The baby she had been thinking about ever since that curse had been gone. A baby Loki had been thinking about for even longer. Maybe, waiting was a ridiculous idea to begin with. They wouldn't have that baby right now right here, anyway. If she had learned one thing today, it was how unpredictable life was. What if they didn't make it unil day X, when having that third child would make sense. No. They might as well do it today. And so, Sigyn started to unlace the front of her dress.

A baby. Sigyn wanted a baby. She wanted the little girl she had told Loki about, or if not, then another strong, sweet boy. How desperately he wanted a daughter, though, after hearing Sigyn describe her. A bouncing baby girl, a young princess, a graceful young woman in time, gifted with Sigyn's beauty and wits and Loki's… well, he was not sure what he wanted her to have of him. Perhaps his natural affinity for sorcery.
He reached for her dress and began to help her out of it, his touch gentle, but not taking his time. He saw the urgency with which she was trying to get out of the dress, and did not hinder her by taking his time. "A baby," he said, in a tone of breathless agreement, a tone of wonder. Long had he wanted her to agree to having another child, and now that she had, it seemed unreal, like a dream. Perhaps this whole day had been but a dream, with a better ending than beginning.
He knew better than to think that, though. The sentencing had been very real, as had their fight. They had made it here, though, a testament to their strength in each other. This night would be a triumph over everything, over the morning's frustrations, over the forces that had divided them.
Once she was undressed, he began to peel off the layers of armor and clothing he wore, tossing them aside next to her discarded dress. Every now and then he leaned in for another kiss, and another. They would make a baby. It had been ages since they had last earnestly tried. He did not need to be persuaded. He had awaited this moment for so long, there was no question that he would follow through with her request.

Thankfully, Loki helped her with her dress. She could not get rid of the damn thing faster! And as he retreated to remove his armor, Sigyn put her hands on her stomach and mumbled the proper words to take that spell off herself. The spell was easy and it was as easily removed. Millions of Asgardian women consulted sorcerers for these kinds of spells. Conveniently, she wasn't only married to a sorcerer, but was capable of performing this kind of magic herself.
Loki's armor fell with clings and clatters. He was bending down while he was removing his tunic, Sigyn pulled him in for a kiss that was more desperate than lustful. Even if they might regret having made this decision in times of emotional turmoils once this night was over, it felt like the right decision just now. Neither of them knew how fast they'd succeed, but they had manged to produce offspring before and the sad fate of their boys had not been related to them, but Freia's curse. So after all, there were little odds they would not succeed this time.
Clumsily crawling further into the guest-bed, Sigyn held him by his face, as close to her as possible. She could not wait to feel him entirely, but she was not driven by the hunger caused by lust, but the hunger for something else. This baby. Or was it the distraction it'd bring? The change of focus, succesfully supressing what was really going on inside of her? Both of them were operating on Loki's trademark mindset of ignoring the true core of the problem just fine right now. Sigyn however, did not realize this. "Don't bother," she breathed as he kissed her neck. No, there was no use for prelude of any kind. Not in this situation.
She'd give him the daughter he had craved for centuries.

The spell was finally gone with a few murmured words from Sigyn. Now there was nothing stopping her from conceiving again, no curse, no spell, only their will. Determined now, as though he feared that each passing moment might change her mind, he pulled off the clothes that bound him, letting it all fall away like so many autumn leaves.
They crawled back onto the pillows, and although she had said not to, he could not help sneaking a few kisses here and there before giving in to her wishes.
---
As the room swam into focus, it took some time for Loki to remember where he was. Already he had become used to their own bedroom, but this was the guest room Sigyn had planned to use. She was warm in his arms, and he lowered his head to place a little kiss on her shoulder. With any luck, they had gotten it right on the first try. But even they had no way of knowing whether there was a child growing within her yet.
He smiled against her skin, and pushed a lock of hair out of her eyes. The troubles of the earlier day had almost left his mind, having receded to the back of his thoughts. It was like a nagging feeling that something needed to be done, but he ignored it. Stroking her stomach, he said nothing, not yet. It was as though any word of his might break the spell of love and contentedness that had fallen over him.

The healing powers of love-making. It had taken her mind off the horrible day, had made her focus on her body and their physical needs, even though now, there was a purpose behind their intimacy. A purpose that might not seem so smart in the morning. But oh well, it was too late now. They had made love and there had been no spell, no protection.
As their bodies cooled down, the thin layer of sweat almost felt icy on her skin, something that Loki might not feel so bad about. Sigyn wasn't freezing, either, after all, it was still summer. She had her hand on his cheek, her fingertips brushing over her hairline. Sigyn was still breathing heavily, but slowly, she calmed down. Who knew whether this had done the job already? They'd have to continue to try and make love as much as possible and hope for the best. Even though she knew the curse was gone, she felt anxious about another child. Old habits died hard and after all, she had lived with that dreadful fear of only being able to bear children, that would fall into illness soon, for eternities.
Freia was still alive. Odin's sentence still existed. But the comfort of their post-orgasmic fatigue was enveloping Sigyn like a warm blanket for her mind. "I love you, Loki," she said in a small voice, heaving a little sigh. "I hope it will go all well this time. I know the curse is gone, but I am still anxious," she confessed, keeping her hand in his hair.

At times like these, Loki almost wished he had some sort of psychic abilities. Though only for the benefit of knowing what would come of this night - whether Sigyn was already pregnant. Perhaps it was better to not know, to live in mystery for a while, but then again, Loki was not exactly known for being patient. He wanted to know now. He liked knowing what to expect; it gave him much more control over his life.
"I know it will go well," he told her confidently. He meant it; he was one hundred percent sure that nothing would go wrong this time. They would have a healthy baby with a natural lifespan, uninterrupted by curses. They would never have to suffer such a terrible loss again. Their daughter would never know the pain of a lost sibling or the discomforts of illness. She would be healthy, strong, perfect. She would be happy.
"Let's get some sleep," he said, rolling off to one side only to put an arm around her, almost protectively over her chest. He already felt sleepy, and she looked blissfully tired as well. The moment he let his eyes close, he began to drift off, into a deep, restless slumber.

She felt as tired as him. Sigyn thought about re-locating to their own chambers, but they were naked and she did not feel like getting up. And the one who'd be able to simply teleport them, well, he was almost snoring already. So this guest room would do. Carefully, Sigyn turned to bury her face into his chest. She knew it was silly to move in that slow motion, but she did not want to move to much and lose some of what she'd need to actually become pregnant. Loki had done a fine job. Now, it was her turn.
Soon, she fell asleep cuddled into him, against all odds of this day.
When Sigyn awoke in the morning, it happened as it was meant to happen. The first thing she became consciously aware of was Loki's body next to her. She exhaled, put a kiss on the curve his arm made at the junction to his torso. Everything was fine. Then, she realized they were not in their bedroom. The lining on the bed was different, the bed was much smaller, the windows at the wrong side.......And then, finally, she became aware of the previous day. The sentence, her uproar, the fight and the...making up.
Sigyn moaned, sat up and rubbed her eyes. She was naked entirely, so was Loki. So this wasn't just a dream. Her and him, they had.....made a decision in the frenzy of their fight, supported by their broken hearts. "By the gods," Sigyn mumbled, sleep still lingering in her voice. She had a headache from all the crying, cussing and fighting, felt sore from the sex and guilty...somehow. She was smarter than this. They were. She leaned against the backrest, trying to fully wake up and figure out where she was standing in all of this.
Thing was, they could not undo it. Sigyn could only hope things hadn't worked out as they had wanted the night before. Did she want it to not having worked out? Loki moved next to her, Sigyn looked at him instantly, biting her lip.

The sweet sound of Sigyn's voice roused Loki from sleep, or at least began the process of waking him up. He heard her mumble, but was still in that wide space between sleep and wakefulness and, moreover, did not want to get up. The bed he was in was clearly not his own, he could tell that much even without opening his eyes, but Sigyn was beside him, and he still felt tired, or something. Murmuring something unintelligible, he turned slightly and went back to sleep.
But that was not the way it should be done, and he knew it. Begrudgingly, he turned back over and peered at Sigyn.
"Good morning," he said, blinking, and then forced himself to sit up. There was an expression on her face that, if he did not know better, would have made him think she was worried about something. But they had nothing to worry about. Or did they?
In a rush, it came back to him - the baby, the fights of the previous day, the sentencing. There was actually quite a bit to worry about. He frowned. That was not the way he liked to wake up in the morning.
"Don't," he said, running a hand over her lip to free it from the clutches of her teeth. Why was she looking at him like that? What was on her mind? "Is something the matter?" he asked, knowing she was probably thinking about Freia and Odin, but he also got the feeling he was missing something important.

Even though Sigyn rarely slept in, she was not the happiest person right after waking up. But she was aware of that and could handle. Now, there was not only her regular bad mood in the morning bringing her to the edge, but the recollection of a most unpleasant day and a decision made on a whim. She let Loki free her lip from her bite, but she grunted. Sinking down into a lying position again, Sigyn covered her eyes with her lower arm. Was something the matter? Did he not remember? Anything? "Everything," Sigyn snorted, keeping her arm over her eyes. Of course, Loki was not at fault for her poor judgement, even if he had agreed instantly. But then again, he had always wanted to try again, even before they had found out about the curse. Maybe, Sigyn had somehow taken advantage of him, using him to soothe her troubled mind with the wrong means. "Can I just stay in this bed for the rest of my days and pretend that nothing of yesterday had truly occured?", Sigyn grumbled, her mouth forming a grim line. She usually was not that childish anymore. The regular Sigyn would notice a problem and start working on the solution almost instantly. With this, she simply didn't want to wreck her mind. She had no idea how to do that. Either way, if they had succeeded, there was nothing to discuss. Deciding to create a child out of all the wrong reasons was bad enough. Having that child suffer from the consequences of such a decision would be even worse. But that wasn't everything to her bad mood. After all, this was another day Freia got to see.

Everything? Why everything? Certainly, there was the problem of Freia and Odin, and the fight they'd had the day before. But not everything was bad. But they had gotten past it and moved on to other matters, namely that of making a baby. To Loki, that was a sign of positive changes.
In Loki's mind, the decision to try for the baby had been a good one. He did not understand that putting their problems aside was not a good idea, that ignoring it in favor of better things was not the way to go about such matters. He just did what he wanted.
And last night, he had wanted to try for a daughter.
He frowned again as she spoke of staying in bed. "Would you like me to bring breakfast to you?" he asked, a little awkwardly, as he had no real idea what to do in this case. He was awake now, though not entirely ready to get out of bed. Getting out of bed meant facing their problems, and they still had not found any way to solve the Freia issue.
Rubbing her stomach again, as though to will a baby into existence, he gave her a small smile. "Surely the day will be better than yesterday," he offered, hoping to cheer her, or at least amuse her, with that thought. Whatever happened, the day could not be as much of a disaster as the sentencing and argument had been or as tough as some of the other past days they had faced.

Of course, he did not get it, because making a baby in order to get rid of all the negative emotions tied to the sentencing of her mother and by doing so, creating something supposedly happy in order to get rid of something bad was exactly the way Loki dealt with things, the way Sigyn tried to abolish and stop by making him voice his emotions.
Of course, at the end of the day, the outcome would be beautiful. If they had succeeded already, Sigyn would love this baby no less, just because of the circumstances of its conception. But right now she dearly hoped he had not gotten her pregnant last night. Sigyn sighed, "No. There are two boys requesting my presence, after all. Our presence," Sigyn said. If not for Vali and Narvi, she would have thought about pulling this blanket over her head and stay in bed for as long as it took her to get well again. It was a good thing her sons existed. They were best at making her happy again. Or happier, for that matter. Moreover, she could sent for a servant just as much. Sigyn appreciated Loki's offer to do the deed himself, yet he was the master of this house. She would not let him collect food to serve her. Well, at least not for everyone to behold. Loki's effort were rather fruitless as talking to Sigyn that early during the day would not create a great outcome to begin with. However, she was not snapping at him, Sigyn was well aware of her moods in the morning. "Indeed," she said, rubbing her eyes. "That was such a foolish idea. I cannot believe we decided a matter of such importance on a whim.", she complained. Just five more minutes of bed-time were alright, were they not?

Was deciding to have a child really a foolish idea? Loki could not imagine that it was. It made sense to him, as it always had. It was a decision he had made long before, and had only been waiting for Sigyn's acceptance of it. Granted, once she had accepted, he had gone ahead without question, and perhaps he should have taken the time to ascertain that it was truly what she wanted. Yet it felt like the right decision, and even Loki, who usually only allowed reason to drive him, could not deny the pull that feeling had on him.
It was also true that Vali and Narvi were in their rooms, waiting for their parents. Loki had not seen them in about a day. When Sigyn mentioned them, he sat up straighter, now actually eager to get out of bed, if it meant he would see them. First he would have to dress, of course, but then he would go to their rooms and wake them. Actually, it would not have surprised him if they were up already, given the lateness of the hour. Perhaps they had gone to their parents' regular room and found no one there.
The way Sigyn spoke of their decision to have another baby sounded very different than her words the night before when she had made the suggestion, Loki noted. Now she seemed far less certain. "I concede that we did not talk it over at length as we usually do, but I would not call it a foolish idea." He cupped her chin in his hand. "You know I have wanted it for some time. I was aware of the repercussions, even if you were not." His words were gentle, and chosen carefully. He did not mean to anger her, but to reassure her, if that was possible.

Sigyn was severely out of her comfort zone with the way they had dealt with this. Loki on the other hand, was right in the middle of his. Even after thousands of years of marriage, they had not reached the same page when it came to dealing with emotions. Sometimes, his way would be the smartest, sometimes, it'd be hers. But either way, that did not change the fact that their approach was just a different one.
"It doesn't make everything else that happened yesterday go away, we should have,...", Sigyn started to argue. But she realized that she was going to talk herself into a severe case of irriation, if she continued. Fact was, they could not undo anything. Sigyn assumed there'd only be a small chance that Loki had managed to get her pregnant the first time they tried. It'd take a lot more tries, she figured. So for now, that'd left them in a conflict of interest: Loki being happy about Sigyn's final change of heart, Sigyn regretting said change of heart in a situation like this. If she knew anything about her husband, he was determined now, eager to go through with his plan. Or theirs, for that matter.
Sigyn rubbed her eyes, sat up again and waved her hand. "Alas, what does it matter. What's done is done.", she said. She knew how much he wanted this and she didn't want to hurt him by talking too badly about last night. She'd revive the spell, but she'd have to tell him about it. Loki wouldn't like it. "Loki, the chances that it worked that quickly are quite low, you know that, do you not?", she tried to carefully approach the topic. She took his hand and brushed her thumb over his palm, maybe, he'd need the consolation.
